In July 2003 a number of international publications featured CLUAS.com after the CLUAS webmaster discovered a serious security vulnerability on the Irish government's site www.netsecure.ie, more info here.
Golden Spider Awards logo CLUAS was one of the 5 websites shortlisted for the 'Dot.ie Readers Award' at the 2002 'Golden Spider' Internet Awards ceremony. 'Internet magazine' logo In the March 2002 edition of 'Internet Magazine' (a respected UK publication for internet professionals) CLUAS was featured in the 'Home Improvement' section of the magazine (where each month internet experts assess the quality of selected 'home-built' websites. The experts scored CLUAS a whopping 9 out of 10 stars for design and content.
Yendo logo In September 2001 CLUAS was chosen as 'site of the week' by Yendo, an Irish website consultancy. They awarded it 3 out of 3 stars.
Electricnews.net logo An article talking about how CLUAS was filling the gap left by muse.ie was published on the IT webzine Electricnews.net (28 May 2001). Read the full article here.

Microsoft logo

CLUAS was showcased by Microsoft as a "killer FrontPage developed website" in their August '99 'FrontPage Bulletin'. This monthly email bulletin is sent by Microsoft to tens of thousands of subscribed FrontPage users around the world. CLUAS was also chosen by Microsoft to feature in their 1999 Gallery of the world's best FrontPage-developed websites.
www.oxygen.ie logo The Irish student portal www.oxygen.ie invited CLUAS founder Eoghan O'Neill to be one of the judges at their first annual student Media awards ('Smedias') in April 2001. Eoghan was the judge for the 'best travel writing' category. Other judges on the panel included film-maker Thaddeus O'Sullivan and television and radio presenter Ray D'Arcy.

RTE Radio 1 logo One of RTE Radio 1's more entertaining programmes - the music quiz 'The Vinyl Curtain' hosted by John Kelly - invited CLUAS founder Eoghan O'Neill to be one of its guest contestants in May 2001. Click here to listen to a recording of the show (real audio format).
Lite FM logo CLUAS founder Eoghan O'Neill was interviewed about CLUAS.com and its success on Michael Comyn's Saturday morning chat show on Dublin's Lite FM (March 24th 2001). After the interview Eoghan was invited by Lite FM to make regular contributions to the chat show about upcoming concerts that would be of interest to Lite FM listeners. He did so for several months in 2001.

Sunday World logo Focus of a feature article in the Metro supplement to Ireland's largest selling Sunday newspaper the 'Sunday World' (January 28th, 2001)

The Sunday Tribune logo CLUAS was featured in the 'Wonderful World of the web' section of the Sunday Tribune newspaper on Nov 26th 2000.
thelist.ie logo The Irish listings magazine 'thelist.ie' used CLUAS album reviews in each fortnightly issue. Also CLUAS Editor Eoghan O'Neill was invited by 'the list' to write a 'Hot tickets of the fortnight' column for 'the list' readers. (thelist is no longer published since late 2001).
Business Plus magazine logo CLUAS was featured in Ireland's leading IT magazine 'Business Plus' in their December 2000 cover story 'Year of the web: the dot com winners and losers in 2000' (in case there is any doubt may we confirm that CLUAS was featured as one of the 'winners' of 2000!)

Featured in the Evening Herald's 'Arts Report' (December 20th, 1999) - "Cluas is a unique, Irish-based site that brings together punters' reviews of films, concerts and anything else that takes their fancy... Cluas.com is also launching a monthly series of gigs featuring unsigned Irish bands... Cluas provides a resource for information on local bands and the chance to download MP3 versions of (new unsigned bands) songs".

In the article 'Internet Cherishes Community Values' (Sep 2-9, '99) Cluas was cited by John O'Connor (Andersen Consulting) as a "good-example of a community building website".

Get Connected logo

Selected as one of the web's top leisure sites in the Nov '00 issue of "Get Connected" (the Irish Indo's consumer technology magazine): "Cluas has been winning awards and plaudits aplenty in recent times and is certainly worth checking out if you're interested in music or cinema. It also features one of the liveliest discussion forums that we've seen in a long time".
Also featured in the news section of the Oct. '99 issue of "Get Connected": "CLUAS is an independent Irish on-line magazine, which keeps an eye on the entertainment scene in Ireland, and an excellent one at that".
