have heard good things about these guys for last few months but only started listening to them now and so far i'm well impressed
real range in their songs, from skewed beach boy harmonies to sigur ros-esque mellowness, all with a slightly unhinged feeling to proceedings
looking forward to seeing what they're like live at oxegen

Smash TV - Electrified 1771 0
Started by Binokular
Going back a bit, this was actually released in 2001. Smash TVs' album 'Electrified' released on Bpitch Control/PIAS. Got interested in them because Miss Kittin did a great dub version of their track 'what about me' on her I Com album and I also like a lot of other acts on Bpitch Control. (http://bpitchcontrol.de/)
If you like actual electro, are tired of merely hearing 'electro-tinged' rock bands and want just want some pure undiluted electro thrills for a change, it's well worth checking ...

If you like your indiepop twee and brassy - you might like Washington's The Positions - www.the-positions.com.
You can listen to their entire debut album by following that link. 'I Need You' is very Spiritualized vs. The Chi-Lites.

I heard a dj playing this band at one of our shows the other night,
they are really good, they remind me of a female postal service mixed with sigur ros mixed with air
my favourite song is 'breathe me'
i havent listened to the full album yet but its all very good so far.

Paul Casey 2316 6
Started by maguirerocks
Hi Guys,
I was at a Chris Rea concert in Dublin the other night (brought to it as a stand in for my uncle who couldn't make it!!) However, turned out to be a great night. The support act was a guy from Derry called Paul Casey. Never heard of him to be honest but as I play a bit of guitar myself I was absolutely blown away by his guitar playing and songs. I actually bought his cd called 'Songs in Open tuning' at the foyer. I have to say it is the best album I've heard in a few years and I hav...

Just got Broken Boy Soldiers today after one listen it is sounding quite splendid. I was worried that it would be V ordinary because I didn't think Steady As She Goes was overwhelming, but the title track is fantastic. Pretty eclectic sound over all - big Beatles vibe overall.
Anyone else got it

Just picked up a copy of 'Hedonist' by Martin Solveig. The title says it all, there is hope for mainstream dance music yet. It's not just a collection of great beats and groves either, but really solid songs too.
