My own probably being Death Cab for Cutie / The Postal Service and Blur / Gorillaz. Any recommendations

35 Replies and 5859 Views Guilty Pleasures hidden in your music collection  5859  35 Started by  stroller Since Binokular has admitted to being quite fond of Planet Perfecto I though that I'd rummage through my record collection and see what cheese I was concealing at the back of the pile. Although I'm not particulary proud of this I stumbled across quie a few whiffy numbers culminating in this top 30; Junior Senior - Move Your Feet Toni Basil - Mickey Joan Jett - I Love Rock N Roll Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl Queen - Don't Stop Me Now Destiny's Child - Bootylicious Justin Timberlake - Ro...

30 Replies and 4267 Views Does musical maturity equal boredom?  4267  30 Started by  Norman Schwarzkopf Just thinking about SFA's upcoming album and how it's supposed to be quite mellow cos that's 'where they're at' at the moment. When bands get older, or their music matures, I often find myself growing less interested in them. I prefer the first few SFA albums to the last few, the Manics are exceedingly dull now, Beck has grown a bit less interesting (it pains me to say). Anyone else feel this Any notable exceptions/contradictions

21 Replies and 3051 Views Clap Your Hands Say Yeah  3051  21 Started by  Unicron New pitchfork darlings, anyone heard them There are some MP3's available at http://www.clapyourhandssayyeah.com, 'In This Home On Ice' is one of my favourite songs of the year, the other 2 I'm not so gone on but the album is hopefully winging it's way over the Atlantic to me as I type. Hoping to check them out at the CMJ music marathon in New York in September.

7 Replies and 1172 Views Coheed and Cambria  1172  7 Started by  Una a few of my American friends are obsessed with this band, and I have to admit, as uncool as it is to like emo, I think they're pretty good.
