1 Replies and 1445 Views Michael Knight  1445  1 Started by  indiecater Starting to get very excited about this band. A cross between the beach boys and Belle & Sebastian. Youth Is Wasted On The Young, their debut, is fab. Haven't been this enthused since David Kitt (erm, geddit!). What do the rest of ye think check out http://www.villainrecords.com

10 Replies and 1410 Views Are We To Blame?  1410  10 Started by  Gar - Can we honestly hold our hands up and admit the reason(s) why the majority of vistors to this website are not getting overly excited about Irish acts - Have the days gone where we used to thrive on discovering a new band in Doran's on a Friday night, made an effort to travel outside of Dublin for a gig (or travelled to Dublin, if you are in different counties/countries) or making sure to catch the Irish band who are supporting the big international act we have paid over the odds for ...

1 Replies and 1072 Views The Odyssey in Belfast  1072  1 Started by  klootfan My girlfriend is a big Prodigy fan and her birthday being last weekend, I brought her along to the Prodify gig in the odyssey on friday night. They put on a great show. But one of the things that really impressed me was how the whole operation was run. First off, the Venue itself. Amazing setup there. From the parking to the gig experience itself. Could easily enter and leave to go to the toilets or to the bar. No one telling you you cant go out this exit. Very easy to get near the front if y...

0 Replies and 1118 Views CMA AWARDS 2005  1118  0 Started by  Rev Jules I stayed up until 2am on sunday morning to watch this, here damn show on BBC. First off, Lee Ann Womack looked less than a Nashville Diva gripping her dodgy looking award than a pornstar on the slide advertising a range of glass d*ld*s. And that was after performing her soon to be classic bad country song, 'twenty years and two husbands ago'. Alan Jackson's hats are now wedged so far down on his head that all you could see was his moustache as he did a cover of Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight'. Bro...

2 Replies and 1967 Views CD inlay cards  1967  2 Started by  indiecater Has anyone come up with the novel idea of selling the original artwork that you get when you buy CD's from the downtown (rip-off) merchants. There are loads of ways to download music (i)legally yet if you wish to burn to CD you are stuck with a grainy home printer job. Lets face it half the fun of listening to music is leafing through the accompanying artwork at the same time. Having the original shiny version would be nice. Perhaps I am not looking in the wrong places. Can you advise

He's apparently set to play another gig now before Christmas and apparently played a blinder in Whelans on Sat night.. was anyone lucky enough to make it Listen out for the track 'Into You'. 4 Replies and 2337 Views IMRO - new & improved  2337  4 Started by  Nomington Sorry Folks, I previously wrote what may of been considered 'an accusation' against IMRO, I have re-written it and it is not intended to accuse or slander, it is simply something I have witnessed with my own eyes; My dad runs a small business, based in our back garden in a shed. Recently, IMRO sent him a bill claiming he owes them for royalties. The reasoning for this would be that a registered business is a public place and if he has a radio playing music, then they are entitled to collect r...
