Started by Rev Jules
Ok, was watching Mythbusters tonight and they discovered that plants grow best if they are played a steady diet of Death Metal. Wow, that blows my mind in a stupid hippie crystal gripping kind of way, far out man !

The Pale 1120 3
Started by milly
Hello! I wondered if any of you might be able to help me - I've been looking for an album by The Pale called 'Heres One We Made Earlier', recorded I think in the better end of the Eighties. The Pale's website has not been very helpful, as they don't even list their old albums, focusing as they do on their current stuff only....It's a cracking album and if anyone has an inkling of a clue as to what I'm talking about, I'd be really grateful as it's for me Mam.
Cheers me dears!!!

Rolling Stones Gig cancelled 1212 3
Started by klootfan
I see on unison.ie, that it came out in court today that the rolling stones gig planned for Phoenix park has been cancelled.
MCD took the OPW to court over their decision to award the gig to Aiken promotions

Send Conor to NY!!! 1525 3
Started by dirtyboots
Hi
This is a campaign we are starting to send our friend Conor to New York this summer. He really wants to go, and he can afford it. But he needs a little encouragement. We are not asking for donations but merely if anyone who has a spare minute could send an email to Conor to encourage him to go. I mean its new york, it would be an amazing summer. But tell him in your own words.
please send emails to: yourbestsuithotmail.com

Daft Punk for Hi-Fi? 1526 2

Heard a rumour that Daft Punk are playing at this after getting a whack of cash off MCD. Bit of a coup if it happens, even if the last record was a load of robo-poo.

Ben Harper - Both Sides Of The Gun 1143 14
Started by Una
I just got this in work, and I have to say, it's the prettiest CD box I've got in quite a while. No case, just a small cardboard box with three cds in cardboard sleeves, two lyrics booklets and another mini booklet of sheet music plus a lovely sticker. IT'S SO NICE!
Just thought I'd share that. It's always nice to have some effort put into artwork - packaging. Anyone else care to add their happy clappy 'I love this record' stories

Electric Picnic tickets?? 1654 7
Started by MACgirl
All that's onsale on ticketmaster are the weekend ones for €175 and a campervan pass for €60. Anyone know if there are going to be day ones available or are they going to make you fork out for the whole weekend, which from a money-making point of view is a great idea, not so good for the punters!
Any insight at the launch last night in Crawdaddy

Songs About Movie Characters 3588 24
Started by Norman Schwarzkopf
In non-festival related news...
What are people's favourite songs about movie characters An obvious one is Mrs.Robinson. I love White Stripes 'The Union Forever' on White Blood Cells cos it's almost entirely made up of Citizen Kane dialogue. They got in a bit of trouble over it I think, copyright-wise.
'There is a man, a certain man...'

Ticketmaster cleared of abusing dominant position 1674 11
Started by Mully
From BreakingNews, last week.
The Competition Authority has ruled that Ticketmaster is not abusing its dominant position in the Irish market.
The body has also concluded that an exclusive agreement between the company and the Ireland's two largest event organisers, MCD and Aiken Promotions, does not prevent, restrict or distort competition.
The ruling follows a two-year investigation into the prices and booking fees charged by Ticket Master.
The investigation was prompted b y thous...
