Know of any Mariachi bands? 1850 0
Started by Liga
This is probably a 'bit' of a stretch, but I need to find a Mariachi band to play in Dublin, preferably a band that are already in Dublin, anyone know of any, or where I might find info on one
Thanks.
if this is in the wrong section i apologise, wasnt sure where it should go.

Started by Daragh
read an interview with them in the ticket and got the album, really quite good, though i've only listened to bout half so far.
But does anyone know any good klezmer bands, or balkan type music Kind of hard to find anything, but anything i've heard so far has been quality. Any recommendations on any folk stuff would be good, american bluegrass, etc

Anybody going to the Jazz festival
went to Branford Marsalis last night who was alright; but the support, a young Japanese lass called Hiromi, was absolutely deadly.
Any fans EST should root out her stuff.

Major changes to CLUAS 1499 0
Started by admin
I've been working behind the scenes the last while on some significant changes to the CLUAS site (probably definitely the most significant changes to the site in its history). In a nutshell I am migrating the site to a completely new set up (from a FrontPage based website, to a site managed with the ASP 2.0 DotNetNuke v4.3.5 CMS framework on a Windows 2003 server, running off a SQL 2005 database. You got that, yeah)
Having said that the overall look'n'feel of the site won't (immediately anyw...

Anything going on around Dublin parts for Hallowe'en I'd love to see some fireworks if there's any. Or a good gig will do nicely in the absence of pretty spiders in the sky.

Belfield FM's alternate show 2041 0
Started by Garret
Is great, mainly cos I'm on it
but also because of the quality music we play. If you're in the UCD area (we broadcast as far as Lucan I think), listen on 101.3, or alternately listen on www.belfieldfm.ie
My show is on between 7.30 and 9
Student radio is great

Sh*te Night 3282 22
Started by stroller
Every bank holiday Monday in the GPO Nite Club in Galway they have a sh*te night where the DJ's play the worst music in their collection; Eifel 65, Aqua, Riverdance etc.
Since September my indie night in the drum (the second room of the GPO) has being switched to a Monday night so next week I'll be playing my first ever rawk sh*te night and I need your help people. I need music that I would never normally play but that people would still recognise and more importantly still enjoy in some guilty...

Silent Disco meets Flash Mob 1914 11
Started by comet
Come on admit it, that flash mob craze was just stupid, people meeting up randomly with no proper purpose. Doing something pointless but now flash mob has got a purpose, it's a silent disco on the go.
'Hundreds of people descended on Liverpool Street station for the biggest ever turnout for the latest internet craze - mobile clubbing.
Armed with MP3 players loaded with favourite tracks the 'clubbers' arrived on the concourse just after 7pm on October 11th. Students, business people and offi...

To listen you'll have to change your time and date settings on your computer to 'Eastern Time: US & Canada' and it should work.
Now...given the posts here before, let the slagging commence.
