Was Peter Buck guilty or not guilty? 1299 3
Started by Q2
Hi all,
Everyone knows the story about REM's Peter Buck being cleared of air-raid charges, with Michael Stipe and Bono testifying on his behalf and everything, what I'd like to ask is, was he innocent or not Personally, I believe the whole thing was a publicity stunt as his arrest was just weeks before 'Reveal's' release, and his court hearings were held at times when he was duetting with artists in the UK. Just another cheesy story in rock n' roll, if you ask me

What are the 3 worst sogs ever? 1402 4
Started by Q2
Howdy all,
I've read loads of posts about favourite songs, favourite albums, etc., so to reverse the psychology a little bit, what 3 songs of all time do you hate the absolute most My 3 right now are:
S Club 7 - Don't Stop Moving (Words cannot describe the cheesiness of that song)
Betty Boo - Where are you Baby (That song pissed me off so much when it came out)
Westlife - Anything by them at all

Stoat seeks tiny little gigs 1294 0
Started by cormac
Stoat is doing a single launch gig thing in June but we haven't played in public for 6 months, so we'd really appreciate some support slots to build up our gigging muscle once more.
If you wanna hear what we're like, there's one MP3 on this site, and two newer ones (recorded this year) up on http://www.thumped.com

Turn 1277 0
Started by Brain of G
Anyone else here a Turn fan I've their 2 newest albums and seen them twice live in Galway and reckon they could be the next big thing. Well, they have the potential anyway. Some of their songs are brilliant and with proper publicity they could go along way.

Any info on Declan O'Rourke? 1680 4
Started by Gwyn11
I downloaded Declan O'Rourke's 'We didn't mean to go to sea' MP3 and have had it on a continuous-play loop for several hours now. I find this song achingly beautiful, and I'd like to know more about the artist (other than what's on Cluas). Yet, I can find little information using the typical Internet search engines, save the Cluas entries and an outdated concert listing here and there.
Does any one have more information on Declan Like, does he have a recording contract pending An album ...

Alice in Chains' Layne Stayley found dead...... 3859 2
Started by Jupiter
Another great singer...gone.
but 'every junkie is like a setting sun'.
'Alice in Chains' Layne Staley was found dead in his Seattle home on Friday evening.
The King County Medical Examiner positively identified Staley's body on Saturday (April 20), following an autopsy. Exact time and cause of death are pending, as laboratory results could take several weeks, a spokesperson said. Staley was 34.
Police responded to a call to check on a person's well-being at Staley's address in Seattl...

NEW Artist REAL Lyrics 1467 1
Started by marialovesmusic
There is a new artist by the name of Martha Redbone that I found on MP3.com under new artists. The music is a cross between Macy Gray and Alanis Morissette, with a similarity to Alicia Keys….which is such a cool and unusual combo. The music is full of soul, grooves and deep lyrics that were sooo true to life! She gave an awesome performance at the Living Room and I plan to see her at the Cutting Room this Tues (4/23). Come check out a cool band!

Zodiac Says Thanks 1534 0
Started by zodiac_lounge
A big thanks to everybody who braved the elements on Wednesday night and turned up at Tomato for the Zodiac Lounge.
The numbers were down slightly on other weeks however I have to say it was our most enjoyable night yet.
It was my first time to see Turn unplugged and they were amazing, Luke from Melaton was superb & Colm Quearney put on a great show.
Pony Club had to cancel due to sickness but will be rescheduled for next May.
Speaking of May we are going to press on the May schedule...

HELP!! Bands and advice needed. 1573 4
Started by SP
OK, here's the deal. I've got access to a venue, suitable for small gigs (300 standing) in a large town that's crying out for some decent live action. I've not done this before but I want to start a regular night booking alternative (hate that word but...) rock/pop bands, anything new and interesting with a bit if attitude. The venue has no PA and the cost of hiring seems pretty prohibitive. So, I'm looking for bands with their own rig, who can pull a crowd and help kickstart this thing into lif...
