Bono in Africa 1333 1
Started by tobble
So Bono has somehow managed to persuade a grumpy, conservative but big time powerful American politician - Paul O'Neill, the US Treasury Secretary - to go and tour Africa with him He's doing this with the aim that Mr. O'Neill then goes back to G.W. Bush and gets them to plough some (intelligently placed) aid into the region and to cancel a bit of debt if possible. What do yiz on this here discussion board make of that Is Bono an oppourtunistic chancer Or is he striving to achieve something un...

Frames Review 1592 2
Started by JJ
I can't believe the Frames review on this site says that Lift to Experience opened for the Frames. Everyone who went to the gig should've known that they cancelled and Paddy Casey filled in for them. Also, the running order is correct, don't know how the reviewer didn't know it. I thought this site didn't let errors like that in it's reviews.

Rock star wins anonymity battle over sex allegatio 1260 4
Started by tobble
'Rock star wins anonymity battle over sex allegations' runs the headline on an article on today's ireland.com website (http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/breaking/2002/0515/breaking72.htm). Check out the story and see if anybody can work out who this anonymous rock star is... Might there be a few hints in the article Like is it not interesting to see that UTV were one of the media outlets seeking to lift the reporting ban on disclosing the artist's name UTV It's hardly a case of it being an Uls...

Will Nickleback be killed by the radio? 2476 9
Started by Q2
Hi all,
I am so sick of hearing Nickleback's 'How You Remind Me' on the radio. You can't turn on the radio these days without hearing it 3 times an hour. I reckon radio stations are on overkill with this song. Consequently, Nickleback could end up joining other one-hit wonders like Andreas Johnston & The New Radicals, because the public got too pissed off listening to them over and over before they ever really got a chance to get to like these bands in the first place. Anybody agree/disa...
