Farewell to Mick McCarthy 2257 6
Started by Q2
Howdy all,
Nothing to do with music I know, but Mick McCarthy is finally gone. I think this is a shame. After all, when he took the job with a bunch of players that grown old and gone down together, he brought new blood into the team and gave a lot of nobodies a chance to prove themselves and formed a good young team. It's a pity all this will be ignored in the wake of the Roy Keane incident, something that went completely out of proportion. But I for one, appreciate the fact that he...

..........well it's not quite as exciting as that,
but has anyone else seen that ad for new cordless telephones or somethingi think it's BT .it's on the radio too and the music in it is 'in the deep shade' off 'for the birds'.
i wonder how this came about. glen hansard is always ranting about how much it sucks to mix money and art, and how if you attach a money sign to music you are 'killing it' type of waffle.maybe it's just that noone was ready to throw money at them at the time he made ...

Started by barry
Hi
I am putting together a cdrom and need to find a intro track that
is emotive and powerful eg. the intro to riverdance (lambeg drums)but not necessarily with a trad angle
Anyone know of something with a powerful drum beat intro with possibly chello sound that builds and builds - would appreciate it

Bands wanted to do Acoustic Radio Sessions 1578 0
Started by johnnewstalk
This is John O'Donovan from Newstalk 106 radio station. I'm the Producer of Late Night Live with Declan Carty, that airs from Mon to Fri from 10pm to 12 Midnight. Every Friday we feature a live band based in Dublin in our 'Wireless Session' and we are looking for bands to take part in the acoustic session on our programme. Also if bands who are interested in taking part in the programme could forward CDs/Demos it would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks,

Vicar Street 1225 0
Started by Vent My Spleen
DOes anyone know what the story is with Vicar Street Just got tickets to the Lloyd Cole/Colin Devlin gig there next week and they have apparently doubled the amount of tables (for anyone who hasn't been there, the venue has a bundle of small tables with 4 stools around them in front of the stage - very civilised). Have they taken out the stall (row) seating on the ground floor

THE PRESCRIPTIONS
Simple Pleasures
Dubliner Niall Brennan has a voice like freshly turned
earth, and it works a treat on these four evocative
tracks, ranging from Super Furry psychadelia to heavy
Waits jazz-rock. A simple, well crafted pleasure.
