11 Replies and 2401 Views Think Tank  2401  11 Started by  Vent My Spleen I note with interest that Blur are album of the month in Uncut and Think Tank has been getting pretty good reviews all round. I have to say, I admire much of Albarn's vision. There was the cockney wideboy posturing of Parklife long before Jamie Oliver mumbled through his first show, 'Girls and Boys' before Sky saw fit to bring us Ibiza Uncovered (black paint to your third eye IMHO) and 'Universal' giving a pointer to the inane rubbish that is Big Brother. Added to that, to pull off a stunt l...

0 Replies and 1291 Views The Legend that is Rory Gallagher  1291  0 Started by  collym The New Album: Rory Gallagher: Wheels Within Wheels (WWW) is the title of the new album by the much-missed Irish hero of blues-rock guitar legend. Not only does it represent the realisation of a long-held dream of Rory’s to release a record of acoustic folk flavours, it also bathes his musical legacy in an elegant new light. As I sit here and listen to an assorted collection of Rory's work, I cant help wondering why this genius never seems to get the recognition he deserves, particularly in ...

0 Replies and 1411 Views Radiohead - new track up on the internet  1411  0 Started by  tobble The ardent Radiohead fans out there probably already know this but the track 'There, there' from the new album is available for streaming from the record company's site. As far as I can see it cannot be downloaded (even though they say it can be), it can only be streamed and it required Windows Media player. You also have to give an email address to hear the track but stick in any old email address and it still works. Link is http://capitolrecords.com/radiohead/email/042403.html Apparently Th...

1 Replies and 1039 Views White Stripes 4 Witnness  1039  1 Started by  Vent My Spleen That's pretty much it - NME says they have been added. Couldn't justify sitting in a field to meself for the Flaming Lips alone but this might just tip the balance. They do have lounge staff cleaning the ashtrays at these things, don't they

0 Replies and 1125 Views Thanks...  1125  0 Started by  singy Thanks to all who came along to the Singleton / Red Cross Iraq Appeal gig the other night. In spite of the hassle of having to find another venue at the last minute (due to Da2's unexpected closure), E 350 was raised for the Red Cross. So many thanks to anyone who came along or helped promote the gig. Keep supporting the Red Cross - visit www.redcross.ie. S>>> www.singletonmusic.com

11 Replies and 3020 Views do you King Sativa?  3020  11 Started by  papa razzo I used to get pissed off because KINGSATIVA were being ignored by the bigwigs in Irish music but not anymore. I've just returned from another unbelievable night in Mezzanine (5 in a row for me now). The place was out the door as usual with all sorts of people dancin and singin along (even out into the street). Unbelievable! Ya see, I know a lot of people think KS should be playing Witnness, The Point etc. and sellin millions of albums but if they did then there wouldn't be nights like this. ...
