22 Replies and 5825 Views Albums you should have bought ages ago  5825  22 Started by  Binokular Anyone ever have the experience of finally getting round to buying an album they intended to buy ages ago and wonder why they didn't buy it sooner Recently I bought a copy of 'Graceland' by Paul Simon. I first heard it about 7 years ago. When I listen to it now, I can't believe that its actually better than I remember it. Any fears that record had dated badly were quickly put to rest, I just kept thinking 'why didn't I buy this sooner' Anyone else finally get round to buying an album th...

1 Replies and 1152 Views Westlife  1152  1 Started by  Vent My Spleen Music to our collective earholes - Brian McFadden leaves Westlife. Surely the end is nigh for this blight on Irish music I was fairly indifferent to them until I heard their version of Mandy, one of the most brutal songs ever committed to an aural format. It both sucked and blowed in equal proportions. You would have thought with all their money they could have got some decent songwriters to knock something out for them, but oh no, trawl the archives for the lamest of the lame.

0 Replies and 1362 Views The Casualties  1362  0 Started by  nailbomb Does anybody here listen to The Casualties, if so what do you think of At The Front Line. If you do not know who The Casualties are, they sound like the lead singer of Cradle of Filth with a little raspier voice and no shrieking when the music is 100 punk. Check them out at www.thecasualties.net

0 Replies and 1467 Views Lemon Jelly Lost Horizons review  1467  0 Started by  awesomesauce Hey, thought you guys might be interested: ......................... Lemon Jelly’s “Lost Horizons” is awesome. It will change you. As an individual soul, unique in every way, you will shift to a slightly different type of unique soul, just so long as you continue breaking the speed limit by at least 15mph and the top stays down. Each song has what any normal band would consider an album’s worth of ideas, and as you explode through a spinning gathering of leaves in the passing lane of th...

4 Replies and 1765 Views Hell on Earth  1765  4 Started by  nailbomb Industrial metal band Hell on Earth told fans that they would stage a live suicide on stage at their next concert. The person said that would commit suicide is a terminally ill member of Euthanasia Society. Billy (lead singer) then released to the press that he is running for St. Petersburg city council in district 3. The night the suicide show was supposed to happen. The owner of the club they were to play in, cut the gig. Hell on Earth soon told press that the suicide was to air on their offic...

1 Replies and 1350 Views Glastonbury  1350  1 Started by  greebo If anyone was interested in heading over they might want to start checking into the new security arrangements. Credit cards can no longer be used to purchases tickets, debit cards only. Overseas puchases (Ireland) must be collected, tickets will not be shipped. This has now put quite a number of us off going. Its just way too much effort.

1 Replies and 1057 Views Anyone at the Fountains of Wayne  1057  1 Started by  klootfan Did anyone catch the Fountains of Wayne in the Ambassador on Sat night. A Quality gig. Really enjoyed it. The place was packed. Definitely a good decision to move it to the ambassador from the village. The gig was over early enough, but they packed the songs in well. Much rockier live then on the album. I got there early to catch David Mead the support act. And it was f**king cold when i got there. Even David Mead was saying that its the coldest place he has ever played. He was impressive...

10 Replies and 1756 Views Trading Mix CDs?  1756  10 Started by  QsySue The moderator accidentally deleted my thread I posted yesterday, I'm assuming no one had replied to it yet I was wondering if anyone would be into trading mix cds. Since I'm in the States I'm having trouble locating a lot of the music that's been recommended, and I love trading mixes, so if anyone's interested, let me know. I'm into all kinds of stuff and maybe I can turn you on to some American music you're unaware of. :)

27 Replies and 14450 Views Post-Lost in Translation: a My Bloody Valentine reunion?  14450  27 Started by  eoghan Now, I know I'm inexcusably slow off the cultural mark here but I only saw that (tremendous) movie 'Lost in Translation' last night for the first time. And as yiz all undoubtedly know Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine contributed a number of newly penned songs for the soundtrack, his first original material since MBV's 'Loveless' was released 12 years ago. Loveless is one of the most enduring, remarkable records I have ever heard. It was - and remains - peerless. Easily one of my top 5 albums...
