Well done to everyone involved with Saturday night in Whelans. Great gig by Bell X1, but the cream of the crop had to be Republic of Loose. What a band!

I’ve got two things for yiz all.
FIRST THING:
As you know we're doing the CLUAS.com 5th birthday celebration yoke this coming Saturday night in Whelan's with bell X1, Republic of Loose, Dave Couse and Ann Scott. Dan Hegarty of RTE 2FM will be MC. So be sure you're there and - more importantly - be sure to spread the word among the mates and colleagues. There are apparently still a few tickets left down in Road records... All the info you want is on this page:

Anyone watch the Eurovision semi-finals Now before some boring person feels the need to point it out, yes Eurovison music is crap, its tacky, its cheesy and camper than volkswagen er... camper van. But for pure entertainment value it can't be beat. Apologies to any non europeans reading this who have no idea what I'm banging on about, this is something that just has to be seen to be appreciated, even then you may still be completely confused.
Highlights of the show had to be Malta and the Uk...

Duets From Hell 1177 7
Started by Rev Jules
Ok all you budding A&R heads out there,
your label has asked you to put together an album
of duets but, since this is a marketing ploy, the results are going to be awful. Prove your worth and come up with a vile, but plausible, pairing designed to get playlisted on morning radio.
Your starter for ten...

You Should'nt Have Said That 1252 2
Started by Lucera
Anyone got any good 'You Shouldnt Have Said That' moments from gigs You know, real life Tap moments
Most recent personal example was Justin Hawkins statement that last years gig in Vicar Street was 'the start of our UK tour' before going straight into a song, over shadowed by much boo-ing from the up until that point obiedient and, dare I say it, awe struck crowd. In fairness to the man he apologised straight away after the tune ended and supplemented this apology with '...I meant to say tha...

New alt station 1441 4
Started by Eric
In todays, Irish Times there is an advertisement from the broadcasting commission of Ireland offering applications for a new ‘alternative rock music service’ of the FM band. It says the service will have a strong emphasis on new, non-mainstream Irish and International music. At the last! Although some of the national stations are beginning to add Alt music slots to their shows, it will be great to have a good station on the airwaves. Perhaps Phantom may get their long awaited moment to lawfully...

Irish Albums that should be reissued 1210 5
Started by Binokular
This whole greatest Irish Album of all time thing has got me thinking. Isn't it sad the way that a lot of great Irish albums are no longer available I mean loads of money gets pumped into preserving Irelands heritage, so you can see 500 year old artifacts yet ironically you can't lay your hands on a copy of an album that was released 15 years ago.
What unavailable/out of print Irish albums would you like to see reissued on CD
Personally I would like to see 'Horsedrawn Wishes' by Roller...

Roland VS 890 1588 0
Started by flagman
Hi all,
A nerd type tech question for anyone who has/ had a Roland VS890.
Here we go,
I have used the Automix feature to put some fade downs on some songs we have recorded, however when I go to mixdown to two tracks(track bouncing thing) it all seems to go wrong and it won't record the automix settings. I've studied the manual and I can't see any procedure to follow to do this, it just states that the automix should be done during track bouncing.
Little help

Russian MP3 site, is it legal here? 1805 1
Started by Binokular
Since internet music seems to be such a hot topic at the moment, Anyone heard of allofmp3.com
Like the Marillion story, this was also found by the register. Its a russian site offering MP3s for the equivalent of 5 us cents per song. Apparently its totally legal in Russian and fully licensed. Theres nothing to stop Irish users using it, but I'm just wondering about the legality of using it what with the recent CD WOW fiasco over license rates in different parts of the world.
The register ...
