Hi goys.
Going to Boston for the summer...anybody have any advice on where to go to catch good music (preferably somewhere not too strict on checking ID, me being only 20 and all) Or good sites to watch for Bostonian music news

Ambassador Theatre - Dublin - A question 2322 7
Started by Taltali138
This might seem like an odd question. I am coming from Israel to the Goo Goo Dolls gig and I really wanted to know if Cameras are allowed there.
I know some let you take them in and some dont, and I dont want to get stuck with or without.
I just cant seem to find any information online.
Thanks

How many gigs do you go to? 3447 17
Started by Ally
A year, say...
For the last few years, I've probably averaged nearly one-a-week but I'm going to slow down I think... I'll do the odd 'something different' gig because these are the most fun... but as for regular venue / regular acts, I'm just too busy...
The important thing I've realised is that it's not a big deal if I miss someone I want to see... they'll likely be around again soon anyhow...

What do the deeply emotional folks of Cluas feel about the recent spate of dj sets by respected musicians over the last couple of years
Would you go to see someone dj from a band you like Would you go to dance or to be a band nerd Who have you seen dj recently and were they any good Are we being flooded by dj nights in Dublin at the moment
This isn't a thinly veiled promo opportunity (ahem Sam Fogarino Of Interpol, The Academy, July 10th ahem), just genuinely w...

Respectable bands you hate 8007 47
Started by Zeitguest
Now I don't mean bands like Razorlight and say The Kooks; the kind of bands most people round here would probably dislike. (I don't mind The Kooks that much at all, but that's beside the point)
It's just I can't stand the Flaming Lips. I hate their crappy songs, I hate the way they're 'wacky', I hate the singer's smug face. When they come on the radio I swiftly change the station. And I like decent stuff, I think.
So does anyone really not like any bands that are generally fairly w...

This Will Destroy You 'debut' Irish gig Oct 12th 2457 1

This just in from Hot Press.com....
'Texan post-rockers This Will Destroy You make their Dublin debut on October 12 in Whelan's, Dublin with tickets priced €14.50.
If their eponymous debut album is anything to go by, you're in for a night of serious instrumental headf**kery'
'Debut' gig Hmmmm, so when I saw their blistering set in Whelans earlier this year (April 11th to be precise) as part of Bud Rising, I must have been dreaming
As for their 'eponymous' debut...

JAMES LAVELL UNKLE MAY 31ST A.L.T. 1718 0
Started by arveene
James Lavelle biog
Described once as the Hunter S. Thompson of DJs, James Lavelle's career has spanned the last 18 years and he remains as individual a figure in contemporary music as he was as a teenager when he first gate-crashed his way in with the genre-shattering MoWax records. MoWax was fresh, frenetic and freewheeling. It didn't care about genres and consequently ignored them. And its innovative combination of music and culture spawned artists such as DJ Shadow, LA Funk Mob, D...

Lou Pearlman Jailed 1786 0
Started by starbelgrade
Lou Pearlman, the pop impresario who launched the Backstreet Boys, was jailed for 25 years yesterday for swindling $300m (£153m) out of friends, relatives, investors and major American banks.
However, Pearlman, who also launched the rival boy band 'NSYNC, pledged to help prosecute his accomplices as part of a plea agreement. His jail term will also be reduced by one month for each $1m he returns to those he defrauded.
In theory, Pearlman, 53, could cancel his sentence by repaying t...
