Mellancamp At The Movies 1032 2
Started by Rev Jules
For those so interested, myself included, TV3 tonight (4th March 2005 12:30am) screens a movie entitled 'Falling From Grace' which stars and is directed by John Mellancamp. The film is about a country music star who returns to his hometown to find some dramatic changes. Of course, it being Friday, y'all might be out on the town or gigging but for those of you intent on staying in, y'all have been informed.

Glasto Tickets 1029 0
Started by Mully
MICHAEL EAVIS has written an open letter to festivalgoers assuring them that ticket sales this year will be smoother than last.
In a posting on the official Glastonbury website, the farmer says that an improved online system, a weekend on sale date and a new ID card system will ensure that tickets sales will be as fair as possible.
Eavis wrote: “Last year buying festival tickets was very difficult and a lot of people were disappointed. The same number of tickets will be available for us to...

Devastating reading, enough to take the wind out of your air guitar. Apparantly Zep did not do that shark thing with a groupie, and Keef never had his full blood tranfusion. To hell with this rock lark, I'm off back to my stamp collection...

anyone else at the gig on Saturday night
i never actively sought a ticket but when a friend offered i decided to go along for the hell of it. i'd seen REM twice before, Slane and Lansdowne and thought maybe it would be interesting to see them in a more 'intimate' setting (comparatively!).
the first few songs were very samey - truth be told it's not a great offering this new album in my opinion - but it got better with the introduction of some of the classics although not enough to justif...

Olympia's Upper Circle of Hell 1436 1
Started by Antistar
Due to stupid procrastination on my part in getting tickets for the mighty Doves' gig in the Olympia, for the first time I ended up watching the gig from the dreaded 'Upper Circle'.What a deeply dispiriting experience. The band seems like 2 miles away, you can't see the visuals, in fact you feel isolated and cut off from the action down below.
To add to my misery everyone seemed to be chatting amongst themselves.
What's the deal there Why do these people shell out 30 euro or more to see ...

a note about making accusations 1238 6
Started by Rev Jules
I was editing a response to a post which made unfounded accusations about me with regard to a passage I had written on an unrelated subject when I inadvertently deleted the topic.
Before anybody starts getting on a high horse about censorship, I want to point out that I simply hit the wrong button. However, if you want to engage me in verbal abuse, I would prefer that you did it by emailing me directly where I can see the 'whites of your eyes' and not using the discussion boards where, I ass...
