Hi.
I'm Dave, a professional musician from Dublin. I was booked to play with my band at the Citi Bar on Dame St. last Monday July 9th. I confirmed the gig twice with Jody, the bar manager (the previous Monday in person and via phone last Friday). One of the bar staff called me on Jody's instructions at 4pm on Monday and told me the gig was cancelled, and they were getting some traditional musicians in on Mondays from now on. Sketch comedy group Diet of Worms (http://www.myspace.com/dietofworms) are playing The Village on July 5th with support from Jarlath Regan. The show is a warm up ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The five-piece group have made some impressive inrodes (spelling) into the Irish comedy scene by this last year, culminating in a sell-out show at Whelan's in January. They are joined on the night by rising star stand-up comedian Jarlath Regan, who is also Edinburgh bound.
