I get the 'born to run' comparisons for their singles - that descending-chord sequence but also the xylophone just under the guitar line in the chorus. ...but to be honest the first person I thought of when I heard it was neil diamond! is that good or bad? I think it's because of brandon flowers' lyrics - very overwrought, not a patch on bruce at his best or even his half-best.

i think this album is way better than the debut..the debut was like in moby's play album in terms of exposure and links to annoying ads etc... they arent fit to shine the boss's boots though....who is though? jesus anyone read that q twentieth anniversery interview with johnny borell? fook me....he's a manequin dressed as joe strummer... shut have boxed him at glasto...saw him and that twirp from athlete walking by....and me mate nicked a smoke off borell...then again had teh chance to drunkenly abuse that foetus with a wig from keane and declined....guess i'm a bottler.....

Borrel is a rock star in The O.C sense .the have got good songs (The Killers ) theres no getting away from it ,its pop and that turns people rite off but doesent mean there over rated ..Nobody can touch the boss ,saw him doing the acoustic show in the Point last year BLEW ME AWAY .finished with dream baby dream by suicide on the organ ..outstanding

I've got nothing against good pop music, how could anyone? And if you're flaunting your books about it kind of makes you sound more like a newly informed first year in my opinion. Plus I think Nevermind is one of the most over-rated albums ever; it was simply a matter of right sound at the right time(like many great albums), all whiny and loud/quiet/loud . For me it has not stood the test of time.
