The adverts for Sams Town are using quotes from Brucie's BORN TO RUN, and the reviews are referencing the same the only thing is having heard the album I don't quite hear the connection.

On the new single(its got "young" in the title)there is one part where the chords descend not unlike the descending chords part in Born to Run. After that though there is no similarity whatsoever.

It's kind of got the same format as the last album, lots of alright songs with a few singles in the mix so people will say "its a great album". Don't understand how/why people fall for this tactic. The album is average and certainly does not deserve the 5 stars it got in the Ticket on Friday

i wouldnt give it five stars but i like it. its a straight forward rock album. big noise, for big stadiums, serves the purpose....some good singles on it.... its a hell of alot better than some of the s**te coming out of GB the last 8/9 months...razorlight a case in point; what a bag of s**te that album is....jonny borell annoys me far more than brandon flowers...

There a big, populist American band that everyone is hoping will release a poor album so the backlash can begin in earnest but... you gotta hand it to them, many of the songs I've heard so far are excellent. 'When you were young' is an absolute monster of a track and one of the best 'comeback' singles I've ever heard. However, saw them on the The Album Chart show and I think Flowers lacks stage presence...great band though.

Ya i agree stage presence can be poor ,but in interviews he comes across alot better then the before mentioned borrell ,Razorlite deserve a smack for bringing that america song into our lives , The Sams Town album isent bad at least 5 songs worth talking about ( like the first album ) and thats alot more then the likes of the kooks / razorlite /mystery jets etc etc have . and if your gna have an image you mite aswell have fun with it !! the mostache idead is cool a nice change from the ima haircut drug addict image all the others are selling ..jesus i prefered the boy bands to some of the s**t we have now .

They've got more in common with Bon Jovi than they have with Springsteen. Just because they're making over the top bombastic stadium rock doesn't mean that they warrant comparisons with the boss.

Where in the hell did the connection to the latest dross from England come from? The new song is brilliant I think as well but after listening to it for the past week I've come to the conclusion that the hype is not warranted just as it wasn't on their debut. I think it's got nothing to do with whether they're populist, it's just whether they deserve to be popular is what I'm questioning

I've heard 'Glamorous Indie Rock n' Roll plenty thanks very much and I'll say it again: they don't deserve the attention they're getting for either album. Great singles does not neccesarily mean great band, I'd say that its mostly the kids that have brought them to their current status as being "invincible"

Great singles doesn't make a great band ,yes but ten songs in two albums makes at lease one great album ??The killers have about 10 good songs ,just ask the hundreds of thousands of people that have paid to see them or the adults that were queuing outside st Stephens for the sell out gigs .

I'm not denying their popularity,I just wondered why so many people like them so much, it's a thing where my opinion is outweighed by the majority. I'm not going to waste my time asking people why they like a band when it most likely would do f**k all to make them consider why they even like them. I've found a lot of people don't even ask themselves why they like the music they listen to and some of these people are just lemmings in my opinion

ye sound like an insecure first year whose just heard nevermind for the first time ...... i like them because i think they are a decent rock group....ok..i've thought about it again...yup still like them, decent songs....decent melodies and big rock sound.... i have a spare copy of william Glassers choice theory if you are wondering why people dont question their tastes. they do, everybody does...you make a choice to listen to something....therefore you've thought about it....
