Is this another case of MCD booking an artist for a gig just so Aiken can't book them for Electric Picnic?

According to their myspace Digitalism are playing Marley Park on the 15th so that would mean that they are supporting Faithless and not Daft Punk.

Daft Punk are apparently only playing 10 or so shows worldwide this year. They were by far the highlight of the weekend at Coachella in April. If Marlay park turns out to be true, expect a *lot* of overseas interest in the tickets.

more MCD offering a daft amount of cash for the show. EP were after them as well but either the Marley Park date suited them better or (more likely) the cash offer was more tempting to daft punk's agent.

there's no f**king way EP could afford to book Daft Punk. Anyway, who cares who they're playing for? It's going to be a brilliant gig. My mate saw them @ Coachella and hasn't shut up about it since. Can't wait!

I didn't catch all of the set at Coachella but it was pretty amazing. Their stage/light show is one of the best I've ever seen. It's kind of a truncated pyramid with them on top and the whole pyramid lights up. It's v.cool.
The bootleg is floating around too. Worth listening to.

Would Daft Punk cost much more than Kraftwerk?

i would imagine they would (cost more that Kraftwerk)
I've heard some of the figures EP have had to pay for so-called 'MCD' acts this year and they are mental. Given that they probably don't have much of a budget left for booking acts at this late stage, I doubt they could've afforded it. Especially considering all the headliners have been announced.
It is a pity in one way, because Daft Punk would be a great way to end Electric Picnic, or even headline on one of the days, but I don't particulaly mind as long as they play in Ireland this year and I'm around to see them.

That's just incredible. Utterly and completely mindlowingly brilliant.Does anything else compare to that? Nothing!
Pity they're not playing EP, they would have been this year's 'Kraftwerk' if you catch my drift. Still roll on Marley Park.
