go to http://www.rte.ie/2fm/alternative.html and see Rick in all his glory. he may be a bland DJ with a stupid accent but he's the shining face of 2FM's alternative nation.

Just followed that link there Pilchard. I think he looks a bit like Brian O'Driscoll in his photo which is a bit scary.

oh, I didn't know he was meant to be 'alternative'. Isn't it a bit of an oxymoron - 'ALTERNATIVE 2FM'? I don't listen to 2fm, so I don't really care. I don't really know anyone who listens to Irish radio to hear the latest 'sounds'. Jenny Hewson I used to listen to, but a lot of her music plays were very specific to her own personal taste, which was good in one way, but after a while, I got bored of some of the noodlier indie stuff. I'd prefer to listen to my own music choices than someone else's.

Tom Dunne has a pleasant, soothing voice. Good if you're practicing self-hypnosis

Yeah rick o'shea annoys the heck out of me. I've a s**te radio in my bedroom and 2fm is the only station that I can a decent reception on. He promotes himself as some kind of alternative hero dj and namedrops irish bands all the time, mentioning the fact that he is friends with them on myspace and bebo etc. But yet he goes to play stuff that would make larry gogan look like john peel. Last week he happened to mention that he was at a 'secret' rhcp gig that was apparently amazing. He constantly mentions his myspace account and is a c**t of the highest order. The kind of person that reads NME, finds out the latest band and rushes out to add them as a friend Anyway, a new radio has fixed my O'shea problem. I mean, the w**ker calls himself rick o'shea, the guy must be so much fun to hang out with, on the end of a noose

Leagues O'Toole is filling in for Tom Dunne this week and I really like the stuff he plays. Pity it clashes with the Champs League though!!

Anyone who willingly picks the dj name Rick O' Shea should be euthanised. I can't believe anyone actually listens to 2fm....I don't think i've had the urge to tune it in in years. As regards Leagues, I didn't like him on No disco, but he is a genius on the radio. You can tell without him speaking that he's sitting in for Tom Dunne. He plays cracking music. Tom is the chief of bland. well the co-chief, there are alot of them in this country.
