I hate getting into debate like this. Firstly, they are not my definitions, they are from various dictionaries and Thesaurus. Secondly, I don't recall berating ANY Irish bands in my post, a market in which we are investing alot of time and money. Thirdly, "the world at large is ignorant" is a cliche statement which you can apply to any market. To someone who is in a band and believes their music has something special or unique or of quality, or same going for a fan who likes a band and buys their records at a cult level but wishes to see them progress and they dont, then the world will always seem ignorant. We have had the "God-Bless-acts-in-ireland-for-trying-to-do-it-on-their-own-terms" debate in here before and it has tended to receive a back lash. I am for any act out there who takes the bull by the horns and goes for it but ultimately, they are looking for what all big bands desire. Their records to be listened to, bought and recognised. Because they go alone does not make them Martyrs. Once again my argument was "hype" can take a band so far, however, the proof is in the pudding and if the music/songs & substance is not there to back it up then you will find so called hyped bands having very short careers in the music mainstream.
