the who should be a laugh....pete is almost completely deaf though?
suppose its better than the year they had coldplay n david gray headline.....fook me was glad there were 80 cans in the tent that weekend.....

watch the hooves dont hit ya in the jaw....
yeah he was put on at 12pm in glastonbury.. i remember....Most hadnt a clue who he was and he was put on before jools holland, van morrison and brian wilson..who ALSO didnt play Oxygen last year...
the chilis are stll a s**te headline..no imagination...are the zzzzzframes....not on their customary "play in front of the same three thousand thirty somethings" pre headline slot this year?
the rest of the line up looks cool, waiting to see who'll play the new bands tent and whether they have something rare, the way they had james brown last year...

Nothing really that surprising in line-up there, except for The Who and Manu Chao. Wonder what Sigur Ros will be like with a festival crowd?

Saturday's looking good with the Who and the Arctics. Not impressed with any of the others though. And no Irish name acts yet ?

Bell X1 are announced. But the New Band Stage and The Ticket Stage should be the one's worth waiting for. At the moment, Saturday is the better day.

I saw them play Galstonbury 2003 and they were completely captivating. It started to rain shortly after they came on stage and I never noticed, when the set ended I realised I was soaked through. |

I think it sounds great! The Who, Chili Peppers, Sigur Ros, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Bell X1....all quality bands.

Seriously, how can you call the Chilli Peppers a 'quality' band, same old, same old. I could easily say they are the most boring band IN THE WORLD. Saw them that time in the Phoenix park with the Pixies.. even if I did think they were alright, save yourself being surrounded by scobie scum and sit at home and listen to the cd because it has the same effect...

Ah yeah well I'm sure we've all enjoyed them at some stage but no way would I want to be near a festival where they are headlining... I'm not trying to rise anyone by saying this because it's easy to sound like a complete a-hole by doing so, but I genuinely think bands like them really do attract the wrong crowds. Someone has already mentioned that it's easy to spot and ignore the idiots & scumbags, that's hairy muff, but it would surely ruin it for me.

Yeah, but all MCD are interested in is the golden buck, & if the wrong crowd pay up, they domt mind.
I think that is part of EPs logic. As I said, I've never been, but have read posts. But if you attract an audience not interested in trouble/messing/craic & more than willing to co-operate, then you dont need Super Expense on Security. |

Weren't the majority of the security at Electric Picnic last year Scottish? Maybe in Scotland they are used to handling crowds and don't over-react to minor things. The security inside one of the tents were as pumped up as the crowd for acts such as Arcade Fire and MixMaster Mike. The opposite with Oxegen.
