What’s in a song.....? The thing with music and music lovers is that you will defend what you like till it kills you..
Music is very personal thing and everyone has the right to like and lessen to what makes them feel good or is right for that moment in time.
I have recorded many bands, singers and worked with song writers and some I didn't understand Y they weren’t been released or getting distribution or what ever.... the point is at then end of the day weather it is Weastlife or Tim Buckley that gives you your fix then lessen to it.
I find that to many people in Ireland run with the crowd and this leads to a falls perception of success for acts here.
For example "The Frames". If they are so good how come they haven't been taken to the heart of the US or UK music buyers.. I happen to like the frames....
AnR's jobs is to find talent that sells and if it is an act that are great writers / players then all the better but 99% of the time it is about units not words...
And that is the way of the world…. Money talks…. Sad but true

& as a proof
"The Woolwoorths store also said it had sold 30 times more copies of X Factor song 'That's My Goal' than the 'JCB Song', and more than the rest of the top 40 put together."

I'll accept this award. It was touch and go for a second there when I went on a bit of a rant, but we all pulled through in the end.
I'd like to thank god, my family, the fans..............

happy christmas.
terrible thread reasons:
1. guy who clearly doesn't know anything about music starts a thread.
2. thread develops into long winded discussion.
3. gar gets to pontificate about all the bands he's ever heard.
4. thread peters out.
see above: Cluas in microcosom
From a genuine Cluas poster/writer: This place has to sort itself out.
