how about interviews with more up and coming irish bands (i.e. more unsigned acts). you could call it "sounds from the underground" and each week have a slot with an unsigned act, giving them an invaluable opportunity to showcase their talent (or lack of it) on television. it would be fun to see them being interviewed and hearing their take on the irish music industry. you only have to read the Psychofest thread for a few ideas on where you might go looking.....
Yes, just like that Girls Aloud song!

Also, you could do the interviews in a hot air baloon.

Capital idea! I'm sure there's plenty of bands around to supply the hot air.

With regard to up and coming Irish bands, there's an interview and performance from Delorentos next week and Pugwash 2 weeks after that so keep an eye out.

Norman, that sounds like my kind of show......can I make a suggestion though, Electric Eddie as a roving reporter, cruising around in a car from Windsor Motors.......

Really got your little heart set on Electric Eddie, doncha? You know what I think? I think you ARE Electric Eddie, desperately scrambling for diversification! That's what I think!
Anyone about to suggest a Barry from Cillit Bang tie-in gets a stack of student loan forms up the wazoo.

The footage of Neil Young in the studio recording 'Prarie Wind' was quite good. But I have to admit that the biggest problem (for me anyway) facing The Last Broadcast is that it clashes with The View. I know The View sometimes has bad guests but last night had Sinead Gleeson, Harry Browne and Mark Little, all of whom were good and the topics they discussed (Elizabethtown, Murderball, new Bret Easton Ellis book, Photo exhibition) were interesting. Wonder why RTE haven't figured out that the same people who might watch The View might like The Last Broadcast too! I suppose the easy answer is to record one of them but if either is crap in parts, I want to just switch around other channels to see Chelsea get beat by Betis or whatever.

The simple answer is that RTE are not very smart.
