They were better when they all lined up against a wall and I shot them. But that was just a wonderful dream.

i think the chalets are all right... ...still, watch you don't contradict yourself... you can't say all irish music would make no waves abroad because it's crap and then say the chalets are the worst of the lot (even though they're making the biggest waves abroad)... generalisation but i trust you get my drift

I'm sort of with Una - didnt really rate them but their new material is good. Will go to see them in The Brog when they play there. The support band for them will be the big draw for me though - nothing novelty about the Hybrasilian boys - its quality all the way.

I have seen the Chalets live twice now, they were very poor on both occasions. The fact is that the girls just cant sing very well at all. And nothing particular struck me about the talents of the rest of the band. Sure the girls look good have a nice 'image' but I think its all style over substance. They may have their 15 minutes of fame but I still think thats 15 minutes too long.

I don't know why this band is getting such a rough ride. I went to see them last night in the Roisins and had a great night. They played a highly enjoyable DJ set afterwards. I'd bever heard Stereolab and Charolette Church played in the same set before.

"I don't know why this band is getting such a rough ride." Stroller, it's because they're good, and most Irish people have no taste.

No, it's because they are, in the opinion of the posters here, in fact s**te. But you're right on one level, most Irish people have no taste.

they're image is cool, the artwork is fantastic, live they're quite good, but i think the songs are kinda weak. i think they'll get better though and that'll be worth it.

Una, calm down dear. People don't like, accept it. It's nothing to do with them being irish etc. Saw them at oxegen in 04 and they were fairly entertaining and good fun. On another point, Totally Dublin hilariously refuses to write anything negative about Dublin to the point of declaring every single pub/bar/club in Dublin as great, terrific, a must visit etc.

jeez una, will you ever take it easy? most people full stop have no taste but then they would probably say that about me as well. taste is a matter of....taste. i can't believe i just wrote that. i'm going for a lie-down

although, seriously Pilchard, there´s little point in saying I should ´calm down´and then post something far more dramatic than i originally did. Anywhoo its not a case of calming down really - if you´re going to make a point make a strong one, cést mon philosophy. im not uncalm, just emphatic
