Well what a day on Satuday, we didn't get the sunshine but at least it didn't rain. Nightmare traffic getting out there, took way longer than last year but made it in time for Kaiser Chiefs who played a brilliant set, really got the crowd going reckon they should have been higher up the bill, next up were Razorlight with Johnny Borrell really playing to the crowd, they were great and he's very sexy which always helps. Bit of Snoop Dogg (not great) before Hal in the Green Room, disappointing. Back to the Main Stage for QOTSA who rocked and pounded out their songs. Really wanted to see Bright Eyes but he didn't turn up!!! 66E were on instead and they started well with "Scrambled Pictures" but we moved on to see The Bravery on the Ticket Stage, stayed for Bloc Party who played an excellent set despite an unfortunate comment on "our first gig back in the UK!". Next up Interpol, definitely my highlight of the day, standing in the middle of the tent you couldn't help but be caught up in the pumping excitement from everyone watching them. Then Ian Brown to finish the day with a few Stone Roses songs and some of his own stuff, all round brilliant day out!! Might try and write a longer review but dying to hear what others thought. Roll on Electric Picnic!!

They were decent without being great. They were on early enough so alot of the crowd seemed tired. But it was a good performance and Jenny Lewis isn't bad either.

I was really impressed with Tom Vek, such a good sound in that tent compared to the others i saw there, i thought in general the sound was bad throughout the weekend, the killers sound was a joke, bloc party and go team also had problems which marred their sets, add to this that we werent allowed into Rodrigo Y Gabriela coz some idiot thought the tent was too full, there was a visibly large gap at the back of the tent! On the other hand, i did get in for James Brown though, legend

jesus Gar, that's some haul! I got to see Kaiser Chiefs Black Strobe QOTSA Snoop Dogg Foo Fighters Green Day Kasabian Prodigy The Streets Maximo Park The Killers Ian Brown wanted to see Bright Eyes and Leya but they didn't show, also caught a few MTV accoustic sets; Brendan Benson, Maximo Park (again) and The Futureheads, during which I had the pleasure of standing next to Mr Dave Grohl. I was too scared to talk to him.

Sweet lord Gar,did you spend the entire weekend running from venue to venue? In the baking heat? Well done to you sir! The best day by a mile was Sunday imho- I saw Maximo Park, The Futureheads, Editors, Jacques le Cont, LCD Soundsystem and James Brown. Clashes were a headache for me too-was hard pressed to choose between Mylo and Interpol but I went with Mylo because I'd already seen Interpol in the Olympia. Only caught a tiny bit of Nine Black Alps which was annoying because I like the other stuff on Melodic and really wanted to check them out but I guess ya can't see everything. What with the alcohol/no sleep combo that was Friday night in camp B I was lucky to see anyone on Saturday but I did manage to catch Kerbdog,Mylo, a bit of Kasabian and the first few songs from the Prodigy who I had zero interest in seeing.Wanted to go to the Go!Team but group politics got in the way...I wasn't too bothered about seeing the Killers (the nasty, dusty main stage with drunken idiots wasn't really attracting me) but some friends of mine went and were very disappointed. Apparently they were booed when they played their new stuff? Anyone with the inside scoop on this?

I saw The Killers and thoroughly enjoyed their set. Didn't notice any significant difficulties with the sound but I was relatively close to the stage. There was no booing from my section of the audience nor did I hear any elsewhere. Great fun at Kerbdog's set on Saturday when Cormac Battle started baiting the bouncers: "All these guys in their yellow jackets are getting paid triple time for doing sweet f*ck all. Let's give them some work to do." Cue Mosh Central and predictable hysteria from the aforementioned bouncers. I was enjoying Green Days set until an accidental wallop to the nose required a visit to the first aid people. No serious damage other than some bloodstains on my Foo Fighters t - shirt which probably won't wash out. Or maybe I should keep it as a badge of honour. The Foos set was the highlight of the weekend for me, they rule. Feeder were quite good also, they managed to get the crowd going with " Just the Way I'm Feeling" and "Buck Rogers". Their bass player nearly got brained by the camera crane swinging down onto the stage ! Saw Humanzi for the first time, was quite impressed with their set. I see they have their very own Bez type character who comes onstage in a gas mask, ponces about for a while and then disappears. All very rock and roll.

I was dissapointed with the Killers. The sound was s**tE and I was quite far back too, so that didn't help. The only booing I heard was significant enough, but only happened when security guards came into the crowd to take down human pyramids and stuff. Flowers said about two sentences to the crowd and on stage the rest of the band members lacked charisma and appeared a bit indifferent, although I might be mistaking their demeanour for nervousness. They pulled in the biggest crowd of the festival though, crazy altogether. And if anyone was at the press area, they caused the biggest stir when they were around, practically a media scrum when they came out of the MTV2 interview tent. Flowers was wearing some very fetching Chanel shades. The new stuff sounds very good especially that one "I don't want to f**k her no more". But on the whole, the crowd was very kareoke orientated, singing 'All These Things That Ive Done' constantly , even when they were playing other tracks. The band managed to hold their own JUST about, not helped by the s**t sound from the main stage.

Could someone please tell me what the f**k is so special about The Killers? Why do they engender such feverish adoration in so many people? Ok, 'Mr Brightside' caught my attention briefly when it came out but after that I rapidly lost interest, that short-lived liking for the band quickly replaced by a slow-building loathing towards them for their general air of apathy at their new-found success, their utter absence of charisma,a stunning lack of on-stage presence and amazing inarticulacy in interviews. They can barely string 2 words together! Plus, they stole their name from the fictional band that appeared in New Order's brilliant video for 'Crystal'. Look closely and you'll see 'The Killers' emblazoned on the bass-drum. And Brandon Flowers is a twat. Rant over.

possibly the highlight of my weekend - class band. also caught saturday: director, the departure, bit of the kaiser chiefs, biffy clyro, bit of razorlight (shudder), turn, snoop a loop, qotsa, 66e, yourcodenameis:milo, bloc party, some much needed rest (no not the band), and the prodigy sunday: the longcut, humanzi, the futureheads, bit of the streets, bit of republic of loose, death from above 1979, doves and then sfa. worst choices of the weekend were futureheads or the streets and new order or sfa... i'd a great weekend much better than i expected

Hi Una I see you were one of those who turned up to see Leya but they didnt play. THought I better fill ya in! Was big disappointment! We all landed down to see them and then found out that Ciaran had got food poisoning overnight - lads had landed to Oxygen - gear was set up on stage with Ciaran back stage in the Hospital tent going through drips before doctor ordered him to be taken to Naas hospital - guys had to take gear back off stage 5 mins before they were take to stage - whole band were truly gutted but hopefully they will get their chance again - this was to be their first Oxygen experience! According to Leya website Ciaran was kept in overnight for further tests so get well soon Ciaran!!! The lads have an Irish Tour coming up shortly - they are due to play Limerick on Saturday so hopefully he will be alright to get back in action!
