I thought they were really good. I only have their 1st album but all in all I was impressed with them. Way better than the crap that came on after them. Boring.

I thought NYC (I think that's what it's called) was the hilight of their set.

thought they might not be the same in the big outdoor venue
but they were great, the set well balanced between both albums.
drummer even got into stadium rock mode by coming forth during PDA
and getting the crowd to clap along for the cool part when the guitars go solo.
and wasn't the weather fab!

no they got a good reception,
and there was a fair few interpol tea-shirts around,
Paul Banks said something along the lines of "you guys are really kind/wonderful" at the end(as you do)

Cool Cool... I was pissed i missed them but like I say I'll be seeing them again soon. Was wondering myself how their live show would transfer open air on a sunny day. Glad to hear it was good.

Oh stop with the anti-Coldplay snobbery.I'm as big a fan now as I was 4 or 5 years ago when I came across them on a NME new band sampler CD. The backlash begins when they become too big and therefore 'uncool'.I'm a fan of both bands and both were excellent. What a beautiful evening in so many ways.

I don't think thats entirely true, I thought they were kinda "decaf radiohead" as soon as they heard them. I don't have anything really against them, I just don't particularly car for their music. I think a lot of people feel that way in fairness. I'm just more a double espresso kinda guy.

referring to one band in the context with another (more acclaimed) generally refers not to snobbery, but personal taste in the hope of indicating that the subject's personal taste is therefore as superior as the second band mentioned
'Coldplay are alright, but they're not as good as Radiohead'
is just as derivative as
'You like Scholes, but he's not as good as Rooney'

i got very annoyed with Chris Martin when Coldplay played Witnness. He was all "thank you all so much for coming to see us, a little student band from Oxford, blah blah." This enraged me, I don't know why. I felt like screaming YOU'RE NOT A LITTLE BAND YOU'RE GLOBAL SUPER STARS NOW GO SNORT SOME COKE OF THE NIPPLES OF VIRGIN SUPERMODELS or something.
what a waste

Hey, I'm just saying what my genuine initial reaction to the band was when I saw them on No Disco, thats what popped into my head at the time, Radiohead-lite, everybody needs a reference point. Crucify me for being honest, why don't ya...
