It didn't get much acclaim but one of my favourite second albums is '10,000Hz' by Air. 'Burnin' by the Wailers is a gem and one of the classic reggae albums. Also; A Quick One - The Who Meat is Murder - The Smiths Transformer - Lou Reed Quality Control - Jurassic 5 Magic & Medicine - The Coral

Agree with most of Gar's long list (the ones I have anyway - The Shins, Jack Johnson, Kings Of Leon, Radiohead, Ryan Adams, Death Cab For Cutie, The Frames, The Decemerbists - all great albums) Eels - ElectroShock Blues is pretty great as is Tift Merritt's Tamborine and Bruce Springsteen's The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle. Read a few days ago how people rated music at either extreme - really bad or really good - there was very little "centrism". Can't find article but I suppose most of the albums that we like we can call great.

Here's another few; The Rapture - Echoes Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique KMD - Black Bastards De la Soul - De la Soul Is Dead Edan - Beauty and The Beat PJ Harvey - Rid Of Me A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory Death In Vegas - The Contino Sessions The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation David Holmes - Let's Get Killed My Bloddy Valentine - Isn't Anything Pavement - Crooked Rain Crooked Rain Oh and Gar those albums by Mundy, Damien Dempsey and OCS are all stinkers.

Definitely an underrated album, unfairly lives in the shadow of Loveless sadly.
