It depends on how many connections the ticketmaster site can handle at one go.

Presume Unicron has gotten a ticket with his "happy day" ....congrats......i can't wait - have my tracks, ghost of tom joad and devils and dust all lined back to back for the ultimate acoustic boss weekend. Will just have to watch the acoustic performances on the anthology DVD though - the live gigs are too energetic to put me in the required mellow bruce mood!

You forget Nebraska surely. Really looking forward to this, I'm batting .500 on Bruce gigs though, '93 one was crap, the E-Street band comeback one was amazing. Guy that works for my old man has the best Boss gig story though, when he played the point last (think it was the Tom Joad tour) the burger place didn't have it's fire certification up to date and he had to go and check the extinguishers and the like to say they were ok. As he finishes up Bruce came on to soundcheck so he sits down at the back of the venue and gets a personal mini gig. Lucky bastard. I reckon he'll be in rare story telling form on the night, fingers crossed for acoustic born to run.

wow, wow, wow. i thought he was incredible. that version of "The River" on the piano, incredible soulful takes on "Nebraska", "Promised Land" and "Racing In The Streets". New stuff stands up really well - "Long Time Coming" in particular and "Jesus Was An Only Son" - and sent me back to the album to listen to it again. Tempted to go see some other European shows but the credit card might not take the pressure!

I was hugely disappointed. It rarely clicked for me on the night, and he butchered "Reason To Believe".

beg to differ on "reason to believe" - i loved the way he pulled seven shades out of blue out of the tune and transformed it. u gotta do different things or otherwise u turn into U2 or Paul McCartney so fair play to Springsteen. The more i think about the gig, the more i love about it.

Well it's good that you liked it, I'm not saying that there weren't highlights (Nebraska , Racing In The streets, The River, Reno, Devils And Dust). I can understand why he wanted to change the material that he's been doing for 30 odd years and sometimes it worked for me (The river), sometimes it didn't (Reason to Believe) and sometimes I wasn't sure and scratching my head a bit (I'm on fire, if nothing else that proves that my dislike for the Born In the USA album is more down to the synth heavy arrangements and production than to the songs that Springsteen wrote for it, but I think Cash's version of the song is probably my favourite). Maybe it's just that I came hoping for more material from the Nebraska and he only played a couple of songs from it and one was a let down. Nice of him to single out the kid at the end and give him the plec anyway.

I am very interested that you said that Unicron. I was, to say the least, gutted that I missed out on tickets to this gig, then I got the new CD and have to say, hand on heart, the more I listened to it, the less effect it had on me, and you are talking to someone who bought nebraska three times a) on cassette (wore it out) b) on vinyl (taped it, wore the tape out, wore out the vinyl too) c) CD (still playing and downloaded to my laptop too). As a result, I began to not feel as bad about missing the gig. I have perfect memories of seeing him play in RDS touring 'Tunnel of Love'
