jesus, a cluas thread is (almost) better entertainment value than a whole DVD box set of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (and u can quote me on that) goes once again to show that you should NEVER believe all u read on the interweb. good for some things (general discussions such as the ace advice i got on the iTrip yoke for my car) but exceptionally brilliant at spreading rumours and innuendo

Regardless of how this was started, it wasn't started here, it wasn't started by CPU or MCD and there is still no official word on it. IS IT TRUE??? Some official words please!

I have to say that this pisses me off no end. I let this rumour run without putting an end to it because i didnt start it, didnt contribute to it and at the end of the day why would I kill publicity. A cpu stage would in my opinion be a great idea because we have the talent on the site to put on a great show and any of the bands would have loved to be involved. MCD are more than able to put on an unsigned tent of their own and would probably not have welcomed me putting in my tuppence worth and I did not contact MCD to try and get some leverage out of the situation. I feel that this reflects badly on me as some people will think that this was somehow my doing, because when columbo is looking for a motive he will see that I had something to gain by this being in the public domain in the first place. if you look at my user name here you will see its my real name and in every other site i use my real name - this is for a reason. I say what i have to say and stand by it. This just looks cheap.

i wouldn't worry about it eddie, its cool that people hold your site in high enough regard to go around saying that you should be represented at the bigget festival in the country. whoever started the thread ('under false pretences') is giving you a bit of publicity and are getting people talking about you and your site, so its not so bad!

I wouldn't sweat it Eddie. Everyone in here knows that it nothing to do with the people who run/moderate CPU To tell the truth, I was ever so slightly hopeful that there was some truth in the rumour. CPU is a great resource and the attention it has been getting of late has been well deserved irrespective of how or where the rumour started
