ok folks...
picture this. youre being held down by two rather aggresive looking body building type persons. and a third person has your mp3 player in hand and is threatening to delete your entire mp3 collection unless you pick a favourite christmas song...a serious situation indeed
what would it be???
For me, it would be Bing crosby and "white christmas".
Although the gift grub version of "do they know its xmas" deserves special mention

Yeah, Fairytale would be a favourite.

Don't want to be predictable but without a doubt for me it is U2's cover of "It's Christmas time (Baby please come home)" that they recorded in 1987 for a charity album. Utterly brilliant. Listening to it you'd never in a million years guess that it was recorded one sweltering July evening in Glasgow.

Mary Margaret O'Hara's version of "Blue Christmas". In fact, everything on that EP.
The Phil Spector Christmas album.
"No Christmas" - The Wedding Present
and... Fairytale of New York.
