Yeah, its pretty grim (their new single "I'm in Love" is a damn sight better, but will depend heavily on your tolerance for the whole "wideboy" thing), but not as bad as people make out. I think the Audio Bullys fell foul of the big problem for anyone releasing a straightforward sample based record: timing. Had it not been for the fact that the Kill Bill movies landed this previously relatively obscure track slap bang into the pulic conciousness, they would have gotten away with it, In the same way that Fat Boy Slim got away with many of his simple cut and paste jobs and Moby got away with the entire "Play" album (at the time) which left much of its source material pretty much intact! To contrast, Audio Bullys' sampling Joe Cocker (I think) on "Face in a Cloud" is inspired and a great track to boot.
Basically the problem with "Shot me down" is: Weak Track + Poor Timing = track bombs critically
