Would I be wrong in questioning who actually wants to hear an acoustic foos album? People want big catchy powerful rock tunes from them, no? They have some nice quiet moments but an album's worth? Spot on! What is the point of a hard-rock band going acoustic? It's a bit like John Martin or Simon and Garfunkel coming out with a rock album. Pointless.

Sometimes it works... look at the session with Soundtrack Of Our Lives on KCRW or listen to the acoustic version of 'Everlong' by Foo Fighters. But I am sceptical to what the new album is like.

Duno, maybe Nirvana were the exception, but their unplugged recording is excellent. Ive listened to quite alot of their bootleg material, some of which was acoustic, and to be honest its sometimes enjoyable to hear what would normally be an angry song sang in Rock mode, change form when sung acoustically

I've no doubt it can work alright. A great song will hold up no matter what I think. Maybe they'll come up with a lovely album and show us all but I doubt it. They've grown so workmanlike I can only imagine the lack of big loud guitars will only highlight the largely average nature of their songs.
