SJ McArdle – EP Launch.
Drogheda's own SJ McArdle launches his brand new EP and website on Friday, March 1st 2002. The EP, entitled "Green Tea And The Black Monkey", is darker and more modern sounding than his debut, "Mister Heavy-Hearted", which was produced by Colin Blakey (ex-Waterboys, We Free Kings).
This time, SJ worked with his brother, Conor, as recording engineer, and they played all of the instruments between them.
2001 marked important advances for SJ McArdle: inclusion on the Dundalk and Newry Democrat's "Loud" CD; good reviews ("Brilliant!" - Jackie Hayden, Hot Press); inclusion on IMRO's Songwriter's Week 2001; constant gigging and general profile-raising. 2002 should see him continue to grow.
The launch takes place at 8pm on March 1st in the Droichead Arts Centre (Drogheda) and will consist of a short performance and refreshments. Admission is free, and all are welcome. MC for the night will be Today FM producer and comedian Martin Maguire.
The website is already up and running at http://www.sjmcardle.com
"Brilliant!" - Hot Press
"Loud and impressive" - Drogheda Independent
"Tender and vicious, a subtle contradiction" - Dundalk Democrat
