Tina McLoughlin - tinwhistle and button accordion
A native of Bremen in Germany now resident in Dublin, Tina began her musical career receiving classical training as a recorder player from the age of six and matured into an accomplished session musician playing recorder and harpsichord.
Discovering Irish Traditional Music in Germany through the emergence of groups such as Planxty and The Dubliners, Tina felt an immediate affinity with the complexity and spontaneity of the music and began experimenting with the tinwhistle and button accordion. She has rapidly become an expert in the genre, fluent in every nuance and gesture of Irish traditional music.
Tina’s debut solo album "Just for now" was released on Claddagh Records earlier this year to uniformly favourable reviews.
Luke Tobin - guitar
Luke studied classical guitar in Vienna and returned to Ireland from there in the late 1980s. Since then he has been involved in both classical and traditional music concerts throughout the country. He is a member of the Irish Traditional group Meascán and they have just released their 3rd album called "No Borders "
Paul Byrne - percussion and vocals
Founder member, songwriter and drummer with chart topping 1980s Irish Rock band In Tua Nua, Paul went on to form the Texas Kellys with Waterboy Steve Wickham and enjoyed much local success on the live front. Byrne was the session drummer on Luka Bloom's acclaimed "The Acoustic Motorbike" album and has played live percussion with him in the past. Paul now runs Phonic Studios where he produces and composes for up and coming talent www.phonicstudios.com
Leo Rickard - uilleann pipes
Uilleann piper Leo Rickard hails from the scenic fishing village of Howth, Co. Dublin. His people were fishermen who also had a keen interest in Irish music. Leo's piping career began in 1976 at the Thomas Street Piper's club and his tutors Peter and Kevin McKenna were pupils of the celebrated piper Leo Rowsome.
Rickard's refreshingly pure piping style allows aficionados to hear the instrument played unadorned by a highly skilled and mature piper. Leo has added his own personal stamp to the traditional repertoire with subtle variations and tasteful embellishments to tunes.
Leo has played with a number of contemporary bands including Clann Éadair, the Wexford based band Cry Before Dawn and In Tua Nua and he has toured Sweden and Germany with the Work and Play Band.
