"With a beat that sounds like Godzilla trampling Tokyo underfoot, Electric Eel Shock mean business, after seeing them you will truly believe that Rock & Roll Can Rescue The World... Do not miss ESS." - Kerrang! "If all is right and proper in the world, Electric Eel Shock must surely be coming to a summer festival near you soon..." Chris Hilliard - The Fly Magazine "The word was about that this was going to be a hot show... And by the amount of people trying to get in it sure was!" John Hanson - Production Manager SXSW "Defenately the most amazing thing we saw or heard at SXSW" Jason Miller - Sony Music "Too much rock for just one hand, Electric Eel Shock were wild!" Brian "B-Doe" Bymark - Austin Music Network BIO "Electric Eeel Shock's ferocious live show is the most relentlessly energetic we've seen in ages... their stage presence is frightening." Electric Eel Shock never fail to leave a lasting impression on all who see them live! "We don't know much English... but we love Rock & Roll!" Electric Eel Shock (aka EES - Rock & Roll Monster from Japan) super-charged live performances have had an enormous impact on the Japanese Garage Rock scene. A band in constant motion, they have toured of Japan, United States (5 times), Canada and UK (London). EES released their first album "Maybe... I think We Can Beat Nirvana" back in 1997. The following year they released their live album "Live Punctured", and by 1999, they had established their own independent label "Micro Music". In April of '99, E.E.S. executed their first tour of New York. Shortly afterward they released their second studio album entitled "Slayer's Bay Blues". They returned to New York for two more shocking tours including a performance at the renowned NYC's CMJ Music Festival 2000. In all the places that they performed the audiences grew larger and larger with each performance. In February 2001 they finished a tour of Canada and the U.S. that included such legendary clubs as New York's CBGB and Toronto's El Mocambo. Then in June they hit the road again for a nation wide tour of Japan, following it with a tremendously successful return tour of the U.S. and Canada. Audiences continued to go crazy for their high voltage music. In June 2001, E.E.S. released a new split CD with the American band, The Get-Go from San Francisco, entitled "E.G. Split", which helped to spread Eel Shock's rock to new territories. In September 2001, E.E.S. won through to the CMJ Music Marathon again. They intended to go on a North America tour including a showcase at the festival, but it was 11th of September when they left Japan. Some gigs were obviously cancelled but they carried through it sharing stages with the likes of The Datsuns, The D4 and The Warlocks and won the highest praise. In March 02, they toured West Coast and Texas. The final performance of the tour was at SXSW Music Festival in Austin where they played with both The D4 and The Datsuns once again. EES hit the US and Canadian highways once again in November 2002 to promote new album "GO America!". The first 'break' in their schedule coming in January 2003 when they spent just over a week in the UK. They came over for three gigs but such was the demand from promoters to put them on and new fans to see them that they ended up playing 14 times in 12 days, all in London! Their last UK gig was supporting Aussie rockers Grinspoon at the famous Hammersmith Palais (PoNaNa's) on Australia day. The crowd of 2500 went wild for the band and bought so much merchandise that EES embarrassingly out sold the headliners (who were all seen proudly wearing their own EES T-Shirts)! At the end of January EES returned to their US tour which took them to SXSW once again. Fox News, CBS and local TV channel, Austin Music Network all interviewed them and filmed their awesome daytime showcase at Emo's. By their main gig on the last day of the festival the word had spread so much that there were as nearly as many people outside the venue unable to get in as there were crammed inside. As everyone who came to see their show knows, EES has been ready to spread their energy and power all over the world. You will also see it!
