You may or may not have noticed, but the website's home page changed a bit tonight. I added a new section on it called 'Discussion Board Highlights' which (dynamically) lists the top 5 threads from the Soap Box (the top 5 are calculated in real time with a very, er, sophisticated formula that takes into account the no. and frequency of replies to a topic). The goal of all this is to raise the visibility of the discussion board with visitors to the website who might not click (or even notice) the solitary link to the discussion board. By giving a chance for a casual (or not so casual) visitor to jump straight through to an active discussion might bring some new faces / voices to the board. If you visit the website home page a few times a day you should see the 'top 5' discussions changing as things evolve on the discussion board. Those of you in the habit of starting a discussion thread, be sure you make the subject line for the thread relevant and self-explanatory (which is not always the case!) considering the subject line is what will appear on the website homepage for the top 5 threads, and is what will (or will not) entice a visitor to click through directly to your thread. So you might see some changes / tweaks in the subject line of the odd thread happening (I’ve changed a few myself in the last few days in preparation for this roll out).
