German outfit - Been going a while
If you like the postal service you'll like this lot
Maybe a little more electro at times
Album for the collection - Neon Golden
Deadly Stuff.

Yeah love the track 'Pick up the Phone' although I wouldn't of said Postal Service at all, it's not near as poppy. I actually always saw similarities with the Folk Implosion, it has that very beaty, melodic sound.

Hey also check out "Shrink" from Notwist, it's killer.
Keep meaning to check out the 13 & God stuff, anybody any idea on what it's like. Anticon stuff can be amazing, particularly new Why? record.

Just heard one track that was a collaberation between The Notwist and Anticon, really nice stuff. That WHY ep, think its called SandDollars, is some of the most interesting things I've heard in donkeys.
The main guy of WHY, Yoni Wolf, was in a serious accident last year - he was left a parapeligic, or so Doseone was telling one morning over a latte.
If you check the Anticon website, theres always a generous amount of mp3's that can be downloaded free.

Thanks Benni, known about the Notwist for a while but you just reminded me that I've been meaning to add "Neon Golden" to my collection. Disagree with the Postal Service comparisons though. The only similarity is the melding of indie with electronica. The Notwist are pretty representative of a wave of similar German bands. If you like this I'd strongly reccomend checking out Lali Puna and other bands on the Morr Music label. http://www.morrmusic.com/

There is a really funky mash up of the Notwist "One with the freaks" with Marvin Gaye, Daft Punk and In Deep. Called DJ Love affair. Pretty hard to find though, makes for a good party dj set...

Yeah pretty near impossible which is a shame really, I've got it in my MP3 collection from when I used to download almost everything posted on Boomselection or Culturedeluxe. It's one of those absolutely seamless bootlegs that if you'd never heard the source material, you'd probably not realise it was a bootleg.

that 13 and god lp is pretty disappointing. the few songs that sound mainly like the notwist are wonderful, but all the hip hop ones are pretty horrible, singing is terribly grating.
all the notwist lp's are great, the first couple are actually metal-tastic. amazing how they changed from hardcore metal to the electro-y stuff they're doing now.
amazing live band too
