Yo, I've organized an info session for this year’s application phase of the RedBull Music Academy , which will take place in sunny Melbourne. We have hired out the Odessa Club, which is a couple a doors down from the entrance to RI RA, which is a small alleyway off Dame Street and the bottom of Georges street called Dame Court. It kicks off at 7pm sharp and we will be demystifying and giving potential students the complete down low on what the academy is all about and the best way possible to get entering. We have special guest lecturer MAD MATTS on hand to do a mini work shop like it's done at the academy it's self and a whole host of past participants to share their experience. This is going to be really interesting for all, not just music fanatics and the likes. Also please note that it's not just about dj's, it's about people who create music, at last years academy in Seattle they had a couple of singers, rappers, as drummer and some musicians , for me it's about music creatives period. The info sessions are open to everyone interested in applying for this year’s Red Bull Music Academy in Melbourne, Australia next autumn. The sessions will be hosted by DJ Arveene in Dublin and Lyndon Stephens in Derry and Belfast. All sessions will feature guest speaker DJ and producer Mad Mats from Stockholm and previous academy students. The info sessions will take you through the application process, show you footage of last year’s Academy in Seattle and you can listen first hand to those who have experienced it. Ex break-dancer and Raw Fusion label don, Mad Mats, is a force to be reckoned with and is recognized as one of the most innovative and cutting edge producers to come out of Scandinavia. As a past lecturer at the Academy he is entirely qualified to share his knowledge of the underground music business. Anyone interested in joining this year’s Academy in Melbourne must follow a few simple steps. Prospective applicants should send a completed questionnaire along with a mix-CD or selection of his/her own music, and a current photo to the Red Bull Music Academy between April 14 and June 3, 2006.
