Named after an obscure Sesame St. character, Karen McCartney, David Grealy and John Hanley formed the band Cowboy X. Fuelled by a mutual love of The Pixies, Tori Amos and Kraftwerk, they recorded their debut album ‘Who are These People?’ in various bathrooms and bedrooms in Portugal and Ireland. Recruiting Adrian Garry into the line up, the band are currently gigging around Ireland.Their debut single ‘Gabbi’ will be released on the Feb 25th 2006, followed by the album in the summer, Cowboy X are the most exciting new Irish band this year.
