Hello I'm in a Belfast band called The Delawares and we are looking for some gigs in Dublin. It's hard to know where to start in terms of promotors etc, so any help would be appreciated. There is music on our website: http://www.thedelawares.com/ and I've included our latest press release. Thank you. Delaware No More...Long Live The Delawares! Belfast band The Delawares are here to bring you a heady mix of psychedelic folk and country rock. On Thursday 23th February they play The Empire Gifted showcase, their first Belfast gig of 2006. Their music is by turns bittersweet and incendiary, with their blend of vocal harmonies and red raw riffs offering an escape from mainstream cliches. 2005 saw The Delawares establishing themselves firmly in the Northern Ireland music scene and beyond, with gigs supporting such local luminaries as Henry McCullough, Bap Kennedy and Duke Special. Formerly known as Delaware, the simple name change came around when a Norwegian band of the same name voiced their concerns. The band, however, remains the same, with their website relocated to www.thedelawares.com. The Empire show promises to be their best yet, with the band showcasing new songs amid the excitement and word-of-mouth that usually follows them around. They'll be joined on the night by Driving By Night, Captain Kennedy and Boat House. A line-up not to be missed! This year expect more music, more madness, and a debut album to warm your hearts and vex your souls.
