Hello. We're writing to you on behalf of the band 'ist' who are currently promoting their second album, "King Martha". As befits a band who are trying to work outside of the current musical system, to promote listener choice and intelligent pop music, ist are trying to reach as many writers, artists and other interested parties both inside and outside of the normal musical channels who might be interested in chronicling their mission to reach the world's listeners one by one. Although we hate to play the "underdog" card, ist are determined to work differently to other bands, following as many creative avenues as possible in their search for an international audience. These have included contacting authors whom they respect for their opinion on the album (including Iain Banks and Neil Gaiman, who have both given glowing reports). We are also working with bloggers across the world, asking them to spread the word. We believe that the listening audience is smarter than they are given credit for, and that if a band is, like ist, prepared to work harder and smarter, giving individual fans their time and energy, they can achieve their goal of bringing real songs and passionate performances to a immense audience who have been crying out for it. A world tour is on the cards, as are films, comic books and a collection of short stories by ist's Kenton Hall.
