With the exception of one brief, but triumphant, performance at Thomas Dunnings inaugural Hoot Night in April (hailed as "comparatively tame"), it was way back in the dark days of Feburuary when Caprtone last took to the stage.
In the weeks and months that have passed although Capratonic House has remained quiet, much has happened. Drummer and statistician Key Incident completed his long awaited, but controversial, thesis on the relationship between UCLA's work on prime number theory and the rise of US Pop Idol. Snakybus, bassist, taking little rest, has been busy completing his first fully improvised series of operettas, in Portugiese, using nothing but kitchen untensils, a harmonica and the San Diego Philharmonic Orchestra. Guitarist, The Epic Highway, spent three months in Sweden studying their world famous method of socialism and examining ways that its basic pillars could be adapted and applied to the world of laid back angular guitars. Vocalist and Guitarist R spent many a spring afternoon on campus at College of Avionics and Philosophy in New York City, where he resumed his on/off post as guest lecturer and student councilor.
All this has lead to a new found energy, palpable as the band regrouped at their top secret Rehearsal Cave deep in the bowels of Capratonic House. Rumors and speculation of a new tougher tighter sounding Tone leaked out, share prices rocketed in New York, entire Asian banking communities collapsed, even an increased confidence in air travel was reported in many sectors.
And so Caprtone return, balanced, tougher and more Swedish (yet also less Swedish) in outlook then ever before.
