Seán Needham is from Donegal, a vendor of upbeat Acoustic Rock, a Paul Weller meets Ben Harper. He has been a guest for artists such as Ladysmith Black Mombassa, Tracy Chapman, Huey Lewis, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Diana Krall, Liam O’Maonlai of The Hot House Flowers and Damien Rice. “His song writing really stands out, he never sacrifices melody on the alter of earnestness and what a gift for melody he has.” - Independent Newspaper.
Cellar Club is Paul Mc Donnell and Dave Molloy. Paul was formerly vocalist/guitarist for De Danann, while Dave is a much-respected multi-instrumentalist and producer. They recorded an album in Vancouver last year with multi-award winning producer Shawn Pierce. They are influenced by the strong writing skills of artists including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Sting and several of their songs have been used in TV shows in Canada and America. “ I had to listen through our catalog of 400 unsigned artists, without doubt you are my favourite band on the whole site” Donny Neufus, Broadjam.
Kevin May(now Guggenheim Grotto) takes a guitar, turns it upside down, smiles a lot and takes you to his charming place for a better view. He writes great songs. A sort of Leonard Cohen or John Martyn in good form, an unabashed romantic with a welcomed honesty. He has just released his debut E.P, co produced by Mick Lynch who will be performing in Whelan’s also

We are delighted to welcome Chiara Browne, our new junctionite. Chiara hails from Australia and possesses one of the finest singing voices anywhere, somewhere East and South of Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow and Peggy Lee. She’s very much in demand as a session singer and recently her “lounge –countryesque” shows with “The Roseponies” have been a sell-out. On the night Chiara takes you to into her photo album of “life through her eyes”. She writes well crafted mature songs that conjure images of tumbleweeds, restless torn hearts and finding the nearest repair shop for the later.
