i probably can't make a case for 'crazy' from gnarls berkely' as 'worst song of the year' because in fairness the guy has a great voice and the song is well crafted and produced but as the most annoying song of the year, it wins hands down (admittedly not helped by every major radio station overplaying it to within an inch of it's useful life)

I feel your pain man. What an incredibly annoying song. I had no idea it was Razorlight before I hated it too..havin to see Borrell's rat face singing it makes it all the more unbearable. The chorus is also naggingly familiar...some 80's rip-off...johnny borrell- if mark knofler is making the chips- then he's, er, making the big macs i think...

Absolutely, terrible song. Johnny Geldoff seems to have lost his 'Golden Touch'..ba dum bum!
Also how annoying has the radio become? Before America it was Snow Patrol (the one that just keeps going and theres nothing to it, monotone vocals etc) and before that it was Flame by BellX1 (which I like)...

i feel its a cash in.
he is obviously looking to break america, with his creepy ambition level.
i detest the attitude of razorlight.

Commercial daytime radio is s**t. That's the bottom line.
If any song is played once an hour, every day for a week/month it cannot but struggle to hold onto it's merit. It's like torture in a way. Put a few POWs in a room with the best album in your collection spinning on constant rotation and they will break.

This echos my sentiments exactly.

absolutely true, but the fact that director have leaped in at number two in the labum charts is 80% at least due to reconnect being on rotation in every afternoon show in teh country so it does have its merits to some degree....
ROL would probably say the same thing if they were asked...
know what you mean by the constant repetition though....see bob sinclair...i'm gonna find him and melt him in a vat of burning porridge...that prick can shove his love generation up his hoop...
and borell...well borell....oiiii nooooooooo...........

Oh the joys of not being able to listen to the radio in work! Though I clearly remember the last time i had to endure daytime radio in work, the memory of hearing james bloody blunt whingeing about yer one being so beautiful every 30mins quite literally drove me to drink.
As for America, i like it. Being a teenager in the 80's i felt like i grew up watching America, so maybe that has something to do with it.
As for Razorlight breaking the states, they had been scheduled to open for Keane last month on a string of dates that of course were cancelled due to a sojourn in the Priory for Tom Chaplin of keane.
