I've read that they're kinda lacklustre live but I'd still love to see them. Totally agree about "New Slang"....absolutely gorgeous. Wish Garden State hadnt provided Shins-slagging material tho. They wouldnt change your life, but Natalie Portman would.

I saw them a few years ago at Oxegen. I didn't know any of their music at the time but they were great live, I was hammered though!

The album got pulled back, so maybe that was why the gig was cancelled.
Pol, I have that Flake Music album. It's pretty good, and managed to get it for a decent price too.

Saw them in Whelans and they rocked. One of the best gigs i've been to.
Dying to hear some new stuff from them. Have listened to the first two to death. Love them both but the debut is my favourite.

It's called "Wincing the Night Away" according to Play.com and due for release in January 2007.
Groan.
elmo95, let me know what you think of it when you give it a spin or two. Would be curious to know.

Had one listen about to give it another, after the new decemberists one which is sounding a wee bit dreary at this time of night. Can't sleep so I'm trying to write a horrid moral philosophy essay. Any know much on utilitarianism?

Heard about six new tracks by The Shins, not sure if they are going to be on the album or not, but they are top quality tunes. They have a cool new website too.
