I was at the Frames in Vicar street 2nite, and I had what can only be described as a near religous experience. What an amazing band. and from 'People Get Ready' on I got quite emotional. Peace and love. Jules

Yeah lets hear it for the Frames. They haven't always got it right on record however as live performers they are 110% Glen Hansard uses every trick at his disposal to make a memorable gig & they have great dynamics in their sound. Don't love everything they do but what I do like I like a lot. Irelands best band at the moment and that includes u2.

Been to many a Frames gig in the distant past, and enjoyed them immensely too. Funnily enough, it was the "near relgious experience" thing that sort of grated after a while. I guess that and the fact that their ticket prices for gigs started getting gradually higher, I wasn't THAT much of a fan in the first place, I could just leave it. Plus everyone at the gigs started to seem much younger than me, making me feel old. Back in my day, you could see the frames, buy chips, take out a mortgage on the way home, and still have change out of 50p. If you told that to kids now, they wouldn't believe you.

Glen is playing here (Portland, Oregon) next month solo. Looking forward to it.

I was dragged along to this gig by the girlfriend the other night. I went into it with a huge chip on my shoulder and a high level of scepticism, and I was waiting with daggers out to tear shreds out of the band (cos thats the sort of mean spirited guy I am!!!!). But I have to admit I was wrong and that they are a fantastic live band. I probably still wont be rushing out to buy up all their back catalog of work, but for sheer professionalism, humour and sound quality they are hard to beat.
