After 6 years (and 4 with this line-up), The Coldspoon Conspiracy as we know it will cease to be! Pat has decided to move on, and we wish him nothing but the best. So The Coldspoon Conspiracy as we know it will be winding down before the end of 2006. But all is not lost....as Ronan, Darren, and Peter are already planning to start a new band from the ashes of The Coldspoon Conspiracy, albeit with a different name, new songs and new member/singer. Pat also intends to continue making music himself. We'd just like to thank all our fans and friends who've been with us through the years, helping with recording, setting up gigs, driving, lending us gear, playing alongside us etc. In those 6 years, we got to tour Australia and New Zealand, played gigs in the USA and the UK as well as getting to play around Ireland with all of our favourite bands. None of this would've been possible without the help of local and international friends (you know who you are!) Our new (and last!) 6 song EP will be released in November and we're going to do one last short tour around the country before we split. We're delighted to be playing with some of our favourite bands (AND good friends) on this last tour, Waiting Room, Giveamanakick, Crayonsmith and Kidd Blunt. We've had a particularly good year since we got back from Australia (getting to tour with Arab Strap and The Chalets, opening for Cursive and The Most Serene Republic, getting to play with our boyhood heroes Mexican Pets for a one-off reform gig, recording a 2FM session and the new EP) so we reckon this is as good a time as any for The Coldspoon Conspiracy to bow out gracefully. Here are the final tour-dates. Come along and say hi (and bye! and then buy the EP!) 23 Nov - Cruiscin Lan, Cork w/ Hooray For Humans 24 Nov - Dolans, Limerick w/ Giveamanakick, Crayonsmith 30 Nov - Roisin Dubh, Galway w/ Crayonsmith Suburban All-Ages gig TBC Dublin gig w/ Waiting Room TBC PS If anyone wants to 'audition' for the new band, just drop us a line! Seriously. If not, feel free to leave us any messages/comments, we'd love to hear from you. Thanks again to all Love the 'Spoons
