Not mad on bright eyes BUT june on the west coast is one of my favorite songs .he kinda comes accross as if he is living in the O.C or somthing , he pulls out some great stuff now and then though .
Is that a seinfeld reference ?

yeah seinfeld reference from the great episode where george try's to sell the idea of "the jerry sitcom"..great great stuff!!
like most of bright eyes stuff i find his lyric's amazing for a guy of 24/25 years of age, he set up his own record label at 14 and has been writing and recording ever since!...just natural talent i think..or does that just sound silly!!??

Mandlebaum .. and soforth.
Anyway, Conor Oberst, when he gets it right is a hell of a songwriter. It just doesn't happen all that often.

"It's the Merv Griffin set."
"How did you get this in here?"
"You just bring it in sideways and hook it."
"So where are you gonna sleep?"
"Backstage."
- Kramer and Jerry, in "The Merv Griffin Show"

Ya his lyrics are good but somethimes a little too angsty and pretentious ,i think june on the west coast is his best song without a doubth ''secrets that were told ,bout a car closed up too tight and heart gone cold '' brilliant song lovely sound off his acoustic guitar and lyrics are ripe ,RIPE I TELL YA .

Conor Oberest fans eager to view seasons 7, 8 and 9 of Seinfeld can very easily do so with the help of modern technology.
Of course, any further discussion of the subject would be tantamount to endorsing copyright infringement, so I shall cease and desist.
