Anyone pop along to the festival of world cultures in Dun Laoghaire over the weekend. I was out there for Mundy on sat and Joe Chester last night. A great set up and congratulations have to go out to the organisers of a great festival. The setup for mundy, while quite busy, was decent. A free gig, an hour in length. Knocked out all the usuals. Food to be purchase down the back, but queues for the bar were mad. Last night then was the HWCH prequil with Joe playing in scotts upstairs. 10 notes in for himself and Valerie Francis. A lovely setup upstairs, its a pity its not used more often.

I had a great time - probably more to do with DL being my hood and henceforth meeting everyone I've ever known out on the aul Kopparbergs. Had a great afternoon yesterday with the Remedy heads at Soul Food @ Brassarie Na Mara. 40Foot after for some good hip hop tunes. Dunno who was belting them out, but it was fun. Great festival.

Very impressed with the set up. Lots to do, plenty of variation, friendly crowd and DL is the perfect location for such a festival. Bit too many yah yah's there but that is to be expected I guess. Transglobal Underground were fab, Eoin Dillon not so bad but his in between patter was nearly as embarrassing as him off the Frames. Will be back next year if only to admire Mr Whippy's ingenuity in the ice-cream van & his cool t-shirts.

Twas a very good set, but yeah, kinda biting the hand that feeds ... I had to doublecheck with a friend regarding one of his comments in a 'Did he say what I thought he said'. He said after one tune "I'd say Thanks, but whats the point" having a dig at the lack of attention people were paying him ...

:) There was a lot going on all the same. The only negative thing was trying to get a pint afterwards. I was 35 mins in walters trying to get a drink. Queues to get into O Briens off licence and all But all in all it was an excellently run event.

Well, it was The Dun Loaghaire Festival of World Culture, It comes with a muppet default setting. I'd say there was plenty of trees missing their hugs last weekend ...
