Ive only been out once in belfast, at the odyssey. That was the prodify last yeat, and I found that a much more enjoyable atmosphere. Pints allowed into the venue, put on the pints to prevent spills, and cardboard carriers for the pints.

i found half the people in Belfast extremely friendly on hearing your accent, and the other half very suspicious and even ignorant. A shame, I like the place and the people i've befriended there. Avoid the black English style cabs. Been to a couple venues, pubs in Belfast and was a good buzz - look forward to a return. I think Dublin has a much better nightlife.

Belfast has some good nitespots and venues and I've always found people to be really really sound and down to earth. Rarely have come across any trouble about the fact that I was from the South whatsoever. I don't think there is as nearly as much posing and chin-stroking done in Belfast venues, which IMHO makes for a better night out!!! That, and the fact that there are plenty of good looking men there too that aren't actually afraid to talk to the ladyzzzz - double plus!!

...maybe it's because i have a bit of a scumbag look about me, ill make sure my head isnt shaven next time im up there! yes, the concentration of good looking people in Belfast is definately higher!! ...and i love the ladies' accents :-)

ya think? I'm living in belfast now, but have been to more gigs in belfast... maybe its the lust for whats elsewhere but i would go wit dublin! but yeah.. been to good and bad gigs in both places... Belfast has a bad reputation of people talking the whole way through gigs(note notorious Mogwai gig couple years ago), which is true... but i found the same problem at Sigur Ros in Dublin a couple of months ago...but yet, was at the delorentos in dublin few wks ago, and i jst think the dublin crowd listen more in general

was up there earlier this year and was struck by how friendly people are definitely a friendlier city than dublin was at a gig in the waterfront and was very impressed with the whole set-up, aside from the fact that you can't bring drinks into the venue (which was the only negative to be honest) i'd also recommend the restaurant in the waterfront - had a fantastic meal there for about half the price i would've paid for the same in Dublin!

yeah.. its definitly cheaper then dublin... no doubt about that... and waterfront is the "up market" kinda venue of belfast.....
